Participants

Youth: aged 18- 30 years representing partner organizations from:

o Türkiye,
o Bulgaria,
o Latvia,
o Malta

Group size 24 participants:

o 6 participants per country


o The gender balance between the participants should be respected during the
completion of the group.

Summary of the project

The objectives of the project are


 To raise awareness of the significance of healthy nutrition, fitness, and physical health among
young people from Europe,
 To raise awareness about the importance of paying attention to the fact that an unhealthy
lifestyle causes various
 psychological problems,
 To encourage the active participation of young people,
 To facilitate the exchange of experience, information, and ideas about the project among 50
young people participating in the activities under the guidance of the leaders,
 Informing young people about this issue by drawing attention to the fact that psychological
problems can also cause obesity,
 Generating actionable ideas to develop a healthy lifestyle by creating interactive physical
activities,

 To ensure that our young people have adequate knowledge of how to live healthily while
encouraging them to be active actors of change within their communities and participants in
shaping a better future for themselves and future generations,
 Contributing to “Sustainable Europe” in nutrition, sport, and health,
 To promote social inclusion and youth mobility.

Project Activities:

There will be two activities within the scope of the project.


1) Fight with obesity through Youth Exchange Activities
2) Share your opinion Healthy generations, Youth exchanges

Arrive and departure

4th of June - the first day of the project, Arrival Day, is the day when all participants arrive at the project
site and there will be no activities.

10th of June - similarly the last day of the project is the day of departure - then there are no activities.

Important - each participant can arrive two days before the project or leave two days after the project
but during these additional days each participant has to cover the costs of accommodation and food
on his/her own.

Insurance

Each participant must have health insurance. In any case, please remember health insurance, as well
as travel insurance, is your responsibility. So don’t forget to check & bring your insurance card with you!

How to reach the venue?

The accommodation place is Zonguldak Amelebirligi guesthouse.

After getting off the plane, you can reach the guesthouse in the following ways:

1) From Esenboga Airport you will go to Kızılay with Ego 442. You can use one of the ego buses
numbered 173,185,190 or 427 from Kızılay and get off somewhere close to the address. If you do
not want to take Ego buses, you can take a taxi from Kızılay to Hosdere.

2) You will get on Havas and get off at Asti bus station. (Havas bus fee is approximately 40 TL) You
will take the Ankaray subway from Asti bus station and get off at Kızılay. You can get to Zonguldak
Amelebirligi Guesthouse from Kızılay by the ego buses or taxi mentioned above.

3) You can go directly from Esenboga Airport to the guesthouse. However, since this transportation
will be very costly, we do not recommend using taxi unless used in a group (we can give a refund if
at least 3 participants use the same taxi.)

NOTE! You must get Ankarakart to ride EGO buses, Ankaray and metro.

NOTE! All the tickets must be given to “Güven Health and Education Foundation” in the period of the
project. All documents, tickets and invoices must be collected in advance and brought here so that
payment can be made by hand.

PLEASE!!: before booking your flights, you must provide details of your travel plans to us for
verification and approval.

** The activities will be held in the meeting rooms of the Güven Education and Health Foundation in
Çayyolu and Kavaklıdere. We will provide the transportation from the guesthouse to the activity halls.

Accommodation
Zonguldak Amelebirligi Konukevi (Guesthouse),

The participants will be accommodated in the rooms with 2-3 beds, the toilets, shower- baths are in all
rooms of the guesthouse. Towels, bed-linen are provided. Hygiene is given importance and rooms are
cleaned regularly.

**Please note that there are some rules of Zonguldak Amelebirligi Konukevi (Guesthouse)

! The doors of the guesthouse is closed at 23.45 ( Local Time in Türkiye) at the latest everyday. The
guesthouse makes no exceptions on this matter.
! It is strictly forbidden to have alcoholic beverages in the rooms.
! It is strictly forbidden to bring and keep all kinds of flammable, combustible, explosive materials.
! There will be absolutely no smoking in closed areas. Smoking is only allowed on balconies.
! It is strictly forbidden to keep any food or beverage other than water and soda in the rooms.
! Be aware of the fact that we are staying in a guest house. Being respectful to other guest by not
disturbing them has utmost importance.

Safety – COVID-19

Since the project location is next to Guven hospital, the medical staff of the hospital will respond quickly
in any emergency. Immediate medical treatment can be provided right away if some medical problems
suddenly appear. Attention will be paid to hygiene and covid 19 rules.

Food
The breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee break will be provided by Güven Education and Health Foundation.

*The participants must inform us forward about their dietary (vegetarian, don’t eat pork, etc.) allergies or

any specific needs before coming to Türkiye so that we can arrange suitable meal options for him/her.

Financial conditions
● 100% of all the travel costs of the participants within the maximum limit per country will be
reimbursed. Reimbursement will be done in EUR, regardless of the currency indicated on the ticket and
receipt/invoice. Any tickets purchased in a local currency other than EUR, will then be converted and
calculated according to the exchange rate of the month given by the European Commission.
● Please do not forget to collect your boarding passes, tickets, invoices and any other travel
document. In case a document is missing, we will not be able to provide a refund.

Reimbursement
***Please check the travel budget limits below. If travel costs exceed the amount budgeted in the
project, the cost should be covered by the participant.

Furthermore, we do not reimburse for travel that occurs more than two days before the start of the
project or two days after the end of the project.

In order to receive the travel refund, participants need to complete a reimbursement form that will be
given during the project. Below you can see the travel cost limits per country per participant:

Some important notes are following

1. Find a flight connection to your country and from Ankara that is suitable for you.
2. Consult your flight plan with project team from Türkiye. (email addresses are below ↓)
***Please do not buy any flight tickets without consulting the project team.
3. Purchase tickets (only if Project Coordinators from Türkiye approve that!!!).
4. KEEP ALL BOARDING PASSES, RECEIPTS,INVOICES.
5. We will make the payment in cash towards the last days of the activity after checking the
invoices, boarding passes, tickets. Therefore, keeping these invoices is very important.

Each of these steps is required for reimbursement. If you skip any of them, you will not be eligible for a
refund for your trip, so read the above process VERY carefully.

Preparation
About Your NGO and Country: There will be special moments in which participants can present their
sending organizations and countries. So you can bring some materials such as PowerPoint presentations,
Leaflets, brochures, videos, or any other promotional materials. And of course don’t forget preparation
for Intercultural night: food, dances, games, videos and etc.

Bring with you:

 At least one laptop for one national group;


 Traditional snacks for intercultural evening;

Currency in Türkiye
The currency of Türkiye is the Turkish Lira (TL).
Exchange rate is approximately (today): 1 €= 21.4207 TL
