Statement of the Problem
The purpose of this research is to determine the potential of banana peel (gel) as one of the most
effective ways to cure skin lesions caused by bug bites. re specifically, it seeks to address the following
questions: This study aims to determine the… Specifically, it aims to answer the …
1. How efficient is banana peel (gel) in the treatment of insect bites? Start the question with “Is there a
significant difference…?”
2. What are the chemical components contained in the peels of bananas (Musa Acuminata Colla) that
can produce anti-inflammation? This is question number 1.

Bananas are known not only for their rich nutritional and mineral content, but they are also a highly
practical and healthful snack option at any time. However, we usually throw away the banana peels (or
use them for home composting). You might be shocked to learn that banana peels are high in
polyphenols, carotenoids, and other antioxidants that can help remove damaging free radicals from your
skin and body.
Banana peels are high in phenolics, which have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant
properties and have been related to a variety of health benefits such as vitamins that can treat a variety
of skin conditions.
Carotenoids and polyphenols are among the beneficial substances found in banana peels.
We chose this topic because it has the potential to assist many individuals in mending skin lesions
caused by bug bites in a quick and uncomplicated manner. This study will help them learn more about
banana peels and their skin advantages.
We also chose this topic because we all know that we Filipinos love to eat bananas and so that the
banana peels don't end up in the trash because it can also be useful to us especially when it comes to
our skin which we really take good care of.
This part of the SIP includes 150 words and explains the reasons why you chose this topic. Please

Future Researchers
- This study could potentially serve as a home for a new researcher's endeavor. These are other
studies that confirm other elements that, in some ways, can change the efficacy of the banana
peel.
- This research could lead to a large supply of low-cost treatments for scars and skin lesions
caused by bug bites. The WHO and the Department of Health and Human Services can use this
research to forecast future demand for and affordable breakthroughs, particularly in the field of
alternative medicine.

This study has certain drawbacks. The researcher has no influence over the constraints. The study
necessitates a specific observation, and the researcher is conducting an experimental study and requires
accurate results from the examination of students in face-to-face classes to determine how efficacious
banana peel is in healing scars and skin wounds. However, since a pandemic occurred during the
research, we must modify.

Because of its nutritious qualities, banana is widely used. Previously, research have shown that banana
plant parts and fruits can be utilized to cure human ailments. Banana peel is a component of the banana
fruit that exhibits antibacterial effect against microbes but has not been thoroughly investigated. There
have been no studies that link banana peel's antibacterial properties to periodontal infections. As a
result, the purpose of this research is to assess the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity of
banana peel extract against Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis) and Aggregatibacter
actinomycetemcomitans (A. actinomycetemcomitans).
Standard strains of P. gingivalis and A. gingivalis the actinomycetemcomitans utilized in this study were
taken from the in-house bacterial bank of Maratha Mandal's Nathajirao G. Halgekar Institute of Dental
Sciences and Research Centre's Department of Molecular Biology and Immunology. The banana peel
extract was made, and the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity were determined using the well
agar diffusion method, as well as the lowest inhibitory concentration using the serial broth dilution
method.
According to a 2018 study, banana peels are high in phenolics, which have significant antibacterial and
antioxidant characteristics and are linked to a variety of health advantages.
Banana peels contain a variety of beneficial chemicals, including carotenoids and polyphenols, according
to a 2011 articleTrusted Source.
A 2012 study discovered that banana peel extracts have anti-inflammatory effects. Banana peels can be
used as first aid, because banana peels have antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory qualities
It's probably past time to quit throwing banana peels out the window. Although it may appear unusual,
banana peels are an excellent remedy for bug bites. This is due to the natural oils found in the skin of
the banana. Simply rub the banana peel, flesh side down, on your mosquito bite and relax as the
irritation fades away into non-existence. Take my word for it: when you have 4 or 5 bites all
concentrated in one spot (or numerous areas), it's far more pleasurable to use your banana peel to
massage your itch rather than watching individuals slip from them.

Mosquitoes are very active during seasonal changes. During the breeding season, they proliferate,
raising the risk level. Some people are more vulnerable to mosquito and bug bites than others. The
overwhelming itchiness and red lumps on the skin are excruciatingly painful. If you are constantly
plagued by these insects but do not want to employ chemical mosquito repellent formulae, we have a
natural solution for you: banana peel. Yes. The discarded banana peel can be used to ease irritating
insect bites.
While you may be aware of the health advantages of bananas, did you know that banana peels may also
be beneficial? Yes, you read that correctly. This article explains the several advantages of banana peels
and how to make the most of them.
Bananas are not only abundant in vitamins and minerals, but they are also a highly practical and
healthful snack option at any time. The banana peels, on the other hand, are frequently discarded (or
use them for home composting). You might be shocked to learn that banana peels are high in
polyphenols, carotenoids, and other antioxidants that can help your skin and body fight free radicals.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
Figure 1. Research Paradigm illustrating the Effect of Banana (Musa acuminata colla) Peel Gel
as a Lightening Agent of Skin Scars
Figure 1 depicts the link between banana (Musa acuminata colla) peel extract as a
possible skin scar lightening gel that aims to lessen skin scars. The researchers will form a gel
from the banana peel extract that can possibly lessen skin scars by measuring the number of
days the scar will heal.
