LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
feel great pleasure whilst inscribing this recommendation for Tarun Mourya, a highly
competent student, and a techie as well. I feel fortunate to have mentored him during his
academic journey at the VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology.

I am Associate Professor at VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology. I


have 20 years of experience and have seen a considerable number of students graduate.
However, Tarun is one individual I have taught who uniquely stands out due to his diligence,
academic integrity and interpersonal skills.

I had Tarun as my student for two semesters, where I taught him disciplines like Data Analytics
and Data Mining. From what I noticed from his conduct in my lectures, I can confidently vouch
for him as I found him punctilious and exceptionally capable. In the very beginning itself, his
spontaneity and enthusiasm to imbibe the knowledge caught my attention. His self-motivated
efforts to extend his process of learning beyond the classroom helped him understand the subject
at a far deeper level than his peers.

But as we worked together, I found even more reasons to keep him in my good books for
students. Tarun could manage his time efficiently, and thus, could also take out time to
contribute to other pursuits like student chapters and clubs. Thus, while being already impressed
by his academic accomplishments, I gave hima chance to become the student coordinator of the
CSEA chapter that I headed at that point in time. Frankly, I was quite impressed by his
leadership qualities and his excellent people management skills. He made great contributions to
the chapter and helped establish robust and easy pathways for the rest of the students to stay
connected and contribute to the chapter on a regular basis. Besides, I noticed that he was very
punctual and ensured that the club meetings were held on time and that the projects undertaken
by him were delivered according to the schedule.

I was further impressed by his ability to work independently when I got the opportunity to
mentor him for his final year project. The project revolved around leveraging machine learning
algorithms and regression models to estimate the yield of production of finger millet beforehand.
The project carried the potential to impact the lives of farmers that suffer losses as they don't
have any reliable prediction figures of their yield beforehand. During the project, I noticed that
Tarun is reliable and can make efforts on his own to learn and implement new concepts, which is
another reason why I believe that he fits the criteria of being an excellent student. He adapted a
painstaking approach to complete his project as he invested considerable efforts to carry out
exhaustive research to make his project more pragmatic and outcome-oriented. Eventually. a
research paper was communicated to the International Journal of Scientific Research in
Computer Science, Engineering and Information Technology, a reputed Journal with an Impact
factor of 6.135.
From what 1 observed of Tarun, I would recommend him for his higher studies without any
apprehensions about it. Having said that, I truly believe that Tarun would be a valuable addition
to your student community and would prove himself as an asset to your acclaimed institution.
