    GAS FOR GREEN GUYANA
    • Natural gas represents the best option –short term as well as mid to long
    term -for transforming the power sector of Guyana into a low cost engine
    for the economic development of Guyana.
    • It is also more consistent with Guyana’s aspirations for a Green State
    Economy than current heavy oil and diesel options.
    • Ahead of gas pipeline to shore, small-scale offshore LNG facility would
    process associated gas from Liza and the product would be brought to
    shore for power generation at a much lower cost than heavy oil and diesel.
    • Even future hydro-power developments would benefit from Guyana
    having gas-fired power so as to prevent excessive drawdown on hydro
    reservoir and having regard to climate change realities
    THE LNG ERA TAKES SHAPE
    • Natural gas is on track to overtake oil as the world’s primary energy
    source by the middle of the next decade
    • Much of this expected increase in gas supply will be delivered to
    market as liquefied natural gas (LNG)

    generation but also for a small to mid scale LNG development which

    industry is actively seeking ways to comply. Converting to gas
    fuelled propulsion is an increasingly viable option.

    SOLUTION FOR GAS DISTRIBUTION

    • Small Scale LNG is an innovative and cost effective solution


    for making natural gas available to energy users not
    currently connected to pipeline networks.
    • Norgas Carriers Small Scale LNG concept delivers gas for
    stranded customers – fleet of two advanced Multigas LNG
    carriers of 10,000 cbm
    • The natural geographies for this concept are developing
    economies, where the availability of electricity and energy
    are key enablers for sustainable growth. The same applies
    for other island nations in SE Asia as well in the Caribbean
    and the Mediterranean.
    NORGAS CARRIERS
    GROWTH IN LNG PRODUCTION AND TRADE
    • LNG demand will also come from its use as a shipping fuel,
    particularly following new rules set by the International Maritime
    Organization for 2020 and beyond that require the use of cleaner
    fuels.
    • DNV GL’s 2018 Energy Transition Outlook projects maritime demand
    for LNG as fuel to grow from around 16 mt/yr in 2017 to 85 mt/yr in
    2050.
