CAPSTONE PROJECT
Towards the successful completion of the programme, each participant will present a capstone
project report based on a topic of their preference. Submitted in the fifth month, the capstone
report will be evaluated on the content and learning capability of the participant. Subsequently, a
viva will be conducted, and project evaluation will be based on the participant’s efforts,
resourcefulness and overall learning insight in project management.

Guidelines on project topic selection and preparation of the capstone report include:

Financial considerations learnt during the programme should be considered, and a suitable
project financing structure needs to also include the feasibility of likely projects

Undertaking practical work as part of the project is highly encouraged, and project

Dr Jyoti Jagasia has over 25 years of corporate and academic experience. During her corporate
work experience spanning over 15 years, she has handled numerous IT implementation projects
for companies like Datamatics, Tech Mahindra, DBS, Maersk India and CMIE, to name a few. Dr
Jagasia has publications in notable national and international peer-reviewed journals. She
currently teaches advanced project management programmes, PMP exam prep courses,
information management courses in different MBA and executive education programmes in
addition to customised MDPs for leading companies.

Adjunct Faculty

Prof. Prabhakaran has been working in S.P. Jain Institute of Management Studies and Research,
Mumbai for the last 9 years. Prior to joining SPJIMR, he was part of the Board of Directors of M/S
Mazagon Dock Ltd which is a Defence Public Sector Company. At MDL, he has had 13 years of
experience in warship building and submarine construction in various roles as Project Manager,
Manager and Program Director. Before joining MDL, he was in the Indian Navy and was associated
with the development of warship machinery involving extensive interaction with the industry.
Currently, he is teaching project management for different MBA programmes and other
customised MDPs for leading corporates.

Prof. Prem Chandrani

Prof. Chandrani is a full-time professor at the S P Jain Institute of Management & Research in
Mumbai. His areas of interest include Business Strategy, Corporate Finance, and Management
Consulting. He has over 40 years experience as an industry leader, consultant, and academician. As
