BACKGROUND
As we all know that Corona Virus affected the whole world; people, businesses, economies,
academics, politics, healthcare, transport etc. This virus became the cause of many disasters such
as millions of people have died, business shut downs, loss of jobs etc. As far as the education
sector is concerned, there are numerous losses we are facing because of this virus. The
conventional way of teaching and studying has been replaced by online system, which is surely
not that effective as the conventional one. Other than that, the biggest problem we are facing
today is that the futures of our students are at stake.
Apparently, students are enjoying free holidays and online mode of learning and exams. Matric
and Intermediate students are getting promoted without giving exams, but all those students who
are enjoying right now and getting passed and promoted through cheating in online exams, they
really don’t know how they are betraying themselves. They are going ahead without skills and
adequate knowledge. And eventually, this will be a huge loss for the whole country that in the
future, our graduates will have degrees but they won’t have skills. So in future, there will be lack
of qualified teachers as well.
But there’s always another side of every situation. This virus has also become blessing and it
discovered our digitalization, it is saving our time, energy and money in ways which we’ll
explain how..
CONS:
Two-way communication:
Online learning eliminates the Human to human interaction in which a student and
teachers can provide feedback and can engage in different class activities which is a
major drawback in online classes. In the absence of face to face learning, it is very
difficult for the teachers to clear the concepts of majority of the students, teachers don’t
even know that the student behind the screen is taking class or not. Apart from that,
teachers themselves get bored of teaching without interaction.
IMPROPER EQUIPMENTS:
Unlike SZABIST most of the institutes in Pakistan are lower class or middle class. So without
having proper equipment for online teaching, it is very difficult for the institutions to provide
quality education to the students. And if the institute manages somehow to teach, then the
problem arises from students’ side, so it is really hectic.
TECHNOLOGICAL ISSUES:
Technological issues like, loss of electricity and internet. This is the most common issue that
each and every one, whether the teacher or the student, is facing.
