6 -1.1b 2P 2P
Given:
L = 60 m
a=4m C
b a A
b=8m B
c
c = 20 m
L
P=50 kN ( Moving Load Group)
Required:
a) Influence Line for vertical reaction at A and B
b) Influence Line for the bending moment at C and at mid-span
c) Influence Line for the shear force at C
d) Maximum vertical reaction at B and corresponding load position.
Assume that the vehicle can travel in both directions.

L L L L L L
Given: L = 1 m, P = 1 kN
Points 1 to 7 are spaced equally along the length of the
structure shown.

Required:
a) Analyse the structure repeatedly by assuming that each
time the unit load P is applied at one of points 1-7.

In each analysis establish all reactions, as well as shear

force and bending moment diagrams showing values at
points 1-7.
b) Use the results of point (a) to determine the following
influence lines:
1. Reaction at A, B and D
2. Shear force at points 2, 3, 5 and 6
3. Shear force to the left and to the right of B
4. Bending moments at points 2, 3, MB, MC and 6
