movement. This even includes moving your mouth and
lips to talk

The job of your amygdala is to manage fear and big
emotions, and keep you safe.

All these areas of your brain, and more, work together to do
everything you and your body needs
Because your brain is still a kid, just like you, it's still learning
about all it's jobs and the best ways to do them.
Sometimes, like when you're upset, or
overwhelmed, your prefrontal cortex doesn't
know what to do!
When this happens, your amygdala will take over and start
controlling your behavior.
This isn't something you think about. It's called fight or flight
instinct.

When your fight or flight instinct is turned on - it's like your
thinking brain gets locked up.
You cant really control the way you're acting, even if people
are telling you what to do.
You might feel out of control, scared, or really angry when
this happens. Here are some of the things you might do
