ABOUT GRI

GRI is a leading producer of Specialty Tires in Sri Lanka with offices in nine countries and
sales in over 50 countries around the world. We produce high-performance Agriculture,
Construction and Material Handling Tires.

We deliver high-grade specialty tires that are built sustainably using pure natural rubber at
our advanced production plants in Sri Lanka. Our state-of-the-art factory is the largest in Sri
Lanka to produce specialty tires and the first to produce radial agriculture tires.
Technological innovation, engineering strength and operational excellence have powered
GRI through rapid growth to become a leader in specialty tires.

Having built a strong reputation in Material Handling industrial solid tires since 2002, GRI
embarked to produce a compelling range of Agriculture and Construction tires in Sri Lanka
in 2018. We built a new factory, with some of the best tire building machines and started
production in April 2018. Customers have found GRI to be an attractive alternative to their
current suppliers and find an advantage in selling a new product line from a new country of
origin.

GRI ensures its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection by the way we
develop new products, generate our power, build our tires, recycle our waste, and manage
our water systems. Environmentally sustainable growth is our strategic goal, both now and
for generations to come.

GRI is certified in ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management, ISO 50001: 2011 – Energy
Management and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management.

TYPES OF FORKLIFT TIRES

Solid Industrial Tires

• Best for tough applications on slow vehicles or trailers with

a high risk of tire damages
• High stability - more stable than pneumatic tires Puncture resistant

• Maintenance Free - no pressure checks

• High load carrying capacity

• No down time - do not burst, deflate or go flat

Press On Band Tires (POB)

• Solid rubber is bonded to a steel band

• Handles tough conditions

• High reliability and safety

• Less rolling resistance

• Runs cooler

Tread Layer
The tread layer has excellent abrasion resistance and cut resistance, giving
the tire a long service life.

Steel Band
Rigid steel band provides good heat dissipation and incorporates the best possible
adhesion of rubber to steel. It also enhances the stability of the tire.

Solid Resilient Tires – 60J line

Solid Resilient tires can be worn down to the 60-J line as
indicated on the sidewall of the tire. Wearing beyond the 60-J
line represents a safety hazard and can lead to unexpected tire
failure as well as potential damage to the forklift. The 60-J line is
shown by the red line on the image

Press-On-Band Tires
Smooth Pattern - Most manufacturers say to replace a smooth
Press on tire when the overall rubber height reaches 2/3rds of
the original rubber height.

Traction Pattern -  Similar to a solid tire, a traction tire has a

safety line, indicating the tread is gone and the tire should be
replaced (See Image).

WEARABLE RUBBER

Pneumatic Tires
Pneumatic tires can be worn until the tread pattern has been
worn away, just like car and truck tires. Wearing beyond the
tread pattern represents a safety hazard and can lead to
unexpected tire failure as well as potential damage to the
forklift.
