Barbie Bungee Lab
Barbie Bungee Lab
Barbie Bungee Lab
Descriptions:
In this lab, some concepts applied are the use of linear regression to estimate values outside known ranges. We noticed the relationship between the numbers of rubber bands to the drop length of the Barbie each time one is added, and therefore we are able to predict values for both the drop length and the number of rubber bands. The concepts of forces were also used during this lab. The drop length of the Barbie results to the number of rubber bands, gravity, and the mass of the Barbie. If the number of rubber bands increases then the drop length of the Barbie will increase as well. During the experiment, the mass of the Barbie and gravity are the constant meaning invariable or not changing. The number of rubber bands being independent variable which is the manipulated variable whose prescreens determines the change in the dependent variable. The drop length of the Barbie is the dependent variable meaning its the observed variable that changes according to the independent variable.

Error Source: The inconsistency of each rubber band was a physical limitation, the rubber bands stretching out during the lab causing inaccurate readings was also a physical limitation, the different people dropping the Barbie was a human error, not being able to get an accurate reading of the drop length each time was both a human and a physical limitation, air and wind dynamics was a physical limitation, and the angle of the Barbie before dropping was a human error. Conclusion Question:
1. 2. 30.48= (.2825) x+.4565 30.0235= (.2825) x 106.277876=x 106 rubber bands 1 foot = 12 inches 100 feet = 12000 inches 1 inch = 2.54 centimeter 1200 inches = 3048 centimeters 1 meter = 100 centimeters 3048 centimeters = 30.48 meters
3. 4. It would be a bad idea for Ken to use Barbies cord Kens weight is greater than Barbie, and the elasticity of the rubber band would be greater for Ken than Barbie. With a greater elasticity, Ken would sustain a injury.
