AMPHIBIA (Disney)

The series follows Anne Boonchuy, a self-centered teenager who is magically

transported to the world of Amphibia, a rural marshland populated by
frog-people and dangerous creatures. There she meets a young frog named
Sprig, who will become Anne’s first true friend and help transform her into a
hero.

CHARACTERS:

Anne Savisa Boonchuy (แอน สาวิสา บุญชว ่ ย) is the main

protagonist of Amphibia. She is a 13-year-old Thai-American
human girl in seventh grade, who in 2019 stole the Calamity
Box for her friends Sasha Waybright and Marcy Wu[16] on
her 13th birthday.[17] After Anne opened the box, the three
friends were transported to Amphibia.

While lost on a strange, lily pad-shaped[18][19][20][21] island,

Anne finds a new friend, an enthusiastic young frog named
Sprig Plantar. Together they start seeking adventures and
exploring the secrets of the world of Amphibia. Anne and her
new frog family try to uncover the mystery behind the
Calamity Box and a way to get Anne back home, along with
trying to find Marcy and Sasha who were transported with
her.
Anne returns home alone with the Plantars in tow, and must keep their low profile as
frog people a secret from the other humans while trying to find a way to return to
Amphibia so she can rescue her friends and defeat King Andrias once and for all. At
the same time, she must also thwart the various deadly schemes against her and her
family that Andrias sends to Earth.[13] Anne eventually goes back to Amphibia and
joins the resistance, aiming to defeat Andrias and end his reign.[15][22] After the
invasion fails, and upon realizing that the red moon is falling because of the
Core,[23] Anne, Sasha and Marcy are imbued with the gem powers to push it back.
Unable to do so, Anne absorbs all the gem powers and destroys the moon and the
Core, losing her life in the process. However, Anne is brought to a limbo-like
dimension via a copy created by the gems' creator, who offers her a job to replace it
as the new guardian of the multiverse, but she turns it down as she is still a
teenager. It agrees to wait until Anne lives her entire human life to ask her again and
sends her back to Amphibia, where she happily reunites with her friends. With the
gem shards only able to open one more portal, she says her final goodbyes to the
Plantars before returning home to LA alongside Sasha and Marcy.[24]

Sprig Plantar is the deuteragonist of Amphibia. He is an

11-year-old (10 prior to "Sprig's Birthday") frog who is the
best friend and guide of the human girl Anne Boonchuy. He
is the grandson of Hop Pop and Polly's older brother.

Sprig is an anthropomorphic pink frog of a small height. He

has hot pink skin, with a paler pink shaded underbelly. He
has short orange hair underneath his dark forest green hat.

Sprig Plantar Turnaround

His casual frog-like body structure consists of slightly
yellow eyeballs with black pupils and blue irises, a large
elongated light green tongue that extends to certain
lengths, and four short limbs with four-digit hands and
two-digit feet.

In "Dating Season", Sprig's head is colored light pink, owing to the use of makeup
powder, and he has orange powdered cheeks.

When he was a tadpole, he somewhat resembled his younger sister, Polly. He is also
very circular, also possessing a light pink tail.

By the time of the epilogue, Sprig's grown a few inches and his hair's gotten longer,
sticking out of his hat.
Polly Petunia Plantar is the tetartagonist
of Amphibia. She is the younger sister of
Sprig, and granddaughter of Hop Pop. She
was a polliwog, which is one of the younger
stages of a frog, then became a young frog
girl nine months after Anne left Amphibia.

Polly resembles a real-life tadpole, albeit

she has arms instead of legs and is more
globular in appearance. Unlike the other
Amphibians, she has a blue tongue rather
than green. She also sports dark purple
irises. She often moves in a wooden bucket
filled with water and held together by a
cylindrical steel frame. It has seen a fair
amount of use apparent in its worn
appearance. She also is seen without it and
hops around instead.

As of "True Colors", after she got nearly

stepped on, she grew her legs.

Approximately nine months after Anne left Amphibia,[2] Polly has matured into a
young frog, growing short orange hair and losing her tail, and now has a pale
underbelly. Polly is an outgoing and mostly fearless tadpole, although she is afraid of
wax figures and olms. She loves adventure, monsters, and having fun with her
family. Although she is young, she has the heart of an explorer. She is mysterious,
explosive, and unpredictable, such as favoring to attack stuff using either her flail or
her rolling pin she named "Doris". Even though she's usually more responsible than
her older brother Sprig, she still retains infantile tendencies, namely being easily
swayed by the temptation of candies. As shown
in "Hop 'Til You Drop", Polly struggles to control
her anger and gets into fights easily.

Hopediah "Hop Pop" Plantar is the tritagonist

of Amphibia. He is the traditional and
over-protective grandfather of Sprig and Polly,
and the guardian of Anne Boonchuy, until she
finally returned back to her home.
Body
Hop Pop is an elderly anthropomorphic frog of small stature. He has mostly
reddish-orange skin with a light underbelly.

His casual frog-like body structure consists of slightly reddish-orange eyes with black
pupils, a dark green tongue, four short limbs with four-fingered hands, and two-toed
feet and white tufts of hair on the sides of his head.

Clothing
As his everyday clothing, he wears a grayish-green waistcoat with a buttoned yellow
shirt and light blue ascot and grayish-brown trousers with light brown socks that
slightly cover his feet.

On Earth, Hop Pop wears a trench coat, a fedora, red glasses, a fake nose and a
pair of slip on shoes.

During the episode "Froggy Little Christmas", Hop Pop wears antlers, a Santa outfit,
Santa boots and a beard.
