WORK IMMERSION
WORK IMMERSION
• refers to the part of the Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum consisting of 80 hours
of hands-on experience or work simulation which the Grades 11 and 12 students
will undergo to expose them to the actual workplace setting and to enrich the
competencies provided by the school under the supervision of the School Head
and the designated personnel of the Partner.
• Immersion is done outside the school campus in a “Workplace Immersion Venue,”
defined as “the place where work immersion of students is done
• Work Immersion Teacher is the school personnel who is assigned to supervise the
learners at the Work Immersion Venue in coordination with the Work Immersion
Partner Institution Supervisor

WORK ETHICS
• a set of moral principles, standards of behavior, or set of values regarding proper
conduct in the workplace
GOOD WORK ETHIC

• it fuels an individual’s needs and goals, it is related to the initiative by a person for
the objectives. It is considered as a source of self-respect, satisfaction, and
fulfillment.
NEGATIVE WORK ETHIC

• a behavior of a single individual or a group that has led to a systematic lack of
productivity, reliability, accountability and a growing sphere of
unprofessional/unhealthy relationships (e.g., power politics, lack of social skills,
etc.)

TEAMWORK
• a collaborative effort of a group to achieve a common goal or to complete a
task
MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
• A legally binding document, which spells out the specific terms and conditions
between and among parties entering into partnership to implement a program,
project or any other similar undertakings
DATA PRIVACY ACT or RA 10173

• protects and maintains the right of customers to confidentiality by setting a legal
list of rules for companies to regulate the collection, handling, and disposal of all
personal information.
RESUME
• is a short document used to summarize a job seeker’s experience and
qualifications for a prospective employer. It includes the job seeker’s contact
information, work experience, education, and relevant skills in support of a job
application.
THREE FORMATS OF RESUME

1. Reverse-Chronological - This is the more traditional format and is what you are most
likely to come across. Chronological format is flexible and can be used for applicants
with any level of experience.
a. In using this kind of format, you should use if:
• I want to show a vertical career progression
• I want to apply to a job in a similar field.
• I want to promote my upward career mobility
b. In using this kind of format, you shouldn’t use if:
• I have major gaps in my employment history.
• I am changing my career path.
• I change jobs every few months.
2. Functional - focuses on your abilities and skills. Since it heavily emphasizes the
applicant’s qualifications, functional format is more suitable for those with an expert
level of experience.
• I have gaps in my employment history.
• I am changing my career industry.
• I want to highlight a specific skill set.
• I want to highlight my upward career mobility
• I am an entry level candidate that lacks experience.
• I lack transferable skills.
3. Combination - This format is generally reserved for those with a great deal of
experience in a particular industry
• I want to highlight a developed skill set within a specific career.
• I want to change my career path.
• I am a master of the subject I am applying to
• I want to highlight my education.
• I lack experience
• I am an entry level candidate
CLEARANCES and CERTIFICATES

1. Barangay Clearance – a document issued by the barangay to bonafide residents
that certifies that he/she is of good moral character. It also a common requirement for
business permits, license, and job applications.
LIMITATIONS - The barangay clearance cannot tell if there have been cases filed
against the maid in other barangays in the country.
NOTE: Clearance – good moral character;
Certificate – residency (for atleast 6 months)
2. POLICE Clearance - is a document issued to a person to prove and certify that he/she
is free and cleared from any case, liability, crime, offense, and bad record in the local
town or municipality he/ she is currently residing.
LIMITATIONS - The police clearance cannot tell if there have been criminal cases filed
against the maid in other localities in the Philippines. Like the NBI clearance, the police
clearance cannot tell if there have been civil cases filed against the maid
a. BASIC PARTS
1. PERSONAL INFORMATION – full name, gender. Birth date, birth place, civil
status, address, contact infos, nationality
2. IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION – identification number, photograph, and
client’s signature
3. CRIMINAL RECORD – criminal record, if any, nature and date of offense, court
jurisdiction, and case status
4. CERTIFICATION – chief’s signature, seal of authority, and date
3. NBI Clearance (NATIONAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION) - is a government

document released to an individual upon request. It certifies that the said individual, at
the time of request, is not involved in any ongoing criminal cases in the Philippines and
is valid for one year upon its request, and should be used within that time.
4. Medical Certificate – a document that confirms a person’s medical condition or

health status.
NOTE: Clearance - official authorization for something to proceed or take place;
Certificate – written proof of a patient’s health condition
MANAGEMENT PROCESS (Understanding business and its nature)
BUSINESS - refers to an organization or enterprising entity engaged in commercial,

industrial, or professional activities.
TYPES OF BUSINESS
1. Sole proprietorships - owned and operated by a single person. There is no legal
separation between the business and the owner, which means the tax and legal
liabilities of the business are the responsibility of the owner.
2. Partnerships - a business relationship between two or more people who together
conduct business. Each partner contributes resources and money to the business and
shares in the profits and losses of the business. The shared profits and losses are recorded
on each partner's tax return.
3. Corporations - business in which a group of people acts as a single entity. Owners are
commonly referred to as shareholders who exchange consideration for the
corporation's common stock.
BUSINESS SIZES
1. Small Businesses - commonly managed by one person or a small group of people with
less than 100 employees.
2. Mid-Sized Enterprises - defined as one with 100 to 499 employees
3. Large Businesses - They are often organized by departments, such as human resources,
finance, marketing, sales, and research and development.
