Travelport 360 Fares
For many travellers, the main factor influencing the decision of which flights to book will be the fare charged
for the journey. This is particularly so for leisure travellers who are paying for the ticket themselves, but also
increasingly important for business travellers as many companies are trying to reduce travel costs.
When checking availability, each booking code represents a different cabin class or fare type. On all flights a
variety of fares are offered. Highest fares which are flexible are termed normal fares. Those which are lower
and less flexible are special fares.
Within each of these categories, there are different types of fares. The general features of the most
frequently seen fare types are listed below. These are general guidelines, and restrictions of each fare may
vary, depending on the route flown. The rules of each fare should be checked, and passengers advised of
any restrictions.

Booking Class Code
The booking class modifier displays fares whose primary booking code is the specified letter. The carrier
code must be specified with this entry, as the entry searches for fares from one carrier only.
Click on booking class code to determine the correct class of service that must be booked for a different
carrier participating in an international itinerary or using IATA published fares. An RBD or Reservations
Booking Designator is a letter code assigned by an airline to a filed fare. There may be one or more RBD for
a filed fare depending on the airline’s requirements. The RBD is the main tool that an airline uses to maintain
‘seat inventory’ for fares sold. This information is store as primary and secondary carriers booking class data.
When agents wish to display this information, they should check the primary airline booking code first and
only if the required information is not supplied should they check for the secondary.
Below is an example of primary and secondary RBD information from a fare display.
16 | P a g e
Travelport 360 Fares Last Updated: Mar20
Display primary RBD information and click “PROCEED”. Click <<Close>> to exit from booking class display.
In the above case if you were looking for the class of travel on Alaska Airlines (AS) you would use K class.
There is no need to check the secondary information as it is already supplied in the primary.
Below is the secondary RBD information of the same fare and as you can see OS advises S or W class.
Because the primary RBD information is L. it would be incorrect to use L and failure to adhere to this rule
could result in an ADM.
NOTE: Remember to always display the primary airline booking code first.

Branded Fares and Ancillaries
Travelport Answer ID 29528
Smartpoint Online
https://support.travelport.com/webhelp/Smartpoint1G1V/#Air/RelatedTopics/BrandedFares.htm?Highlight
=branded%20fares
Overview
Travelport Branded Fares gives airlines the ability to showcase, differentiate, promote and distribute all
their fare products and ancillaries to our global travel agency audience. Over 290 airlines are now active in
merchandising across the Travelport platform, delivering their branded fares and ancillaries.
Airlines organize their fares into commercially recognized products called brands, which they offer to
consumers as products. Different service offerings are associated to each brand; some brands may include
free-of-charge services as well as services for an additional charge. Each brand exists as a tier in relation to
other brands within an airline program. Upsell from one brand to a higher brand is an integral part of
branding.
Brands are associated to a Fare Family. A Fare Family can be defined by geographical locations or travel
dates. For example, Fare Families can define carrier's different markets. If a carrier has only one global
market, then the carrier has only one Family with several brands inside that Family.
Brands are the levels of service offered within a Fare Family. For example, a carrier may have a brand for
first class service, a brand for business class service, and a brand for economy service. Each brand can be
associated with one Fare Family or multiple Fare Families.
Branded fares from participating carriers can be accessed directly from the shopping results screen.
By clicking the highlighted fare, you have immediate access to all the services offered in each cabin.
Images and icons help you to sell more efficiently, and help your customers make the right travel choices.
Travel consultants have access to all of the airlines' product and marketing information within their
booking flow, improving agent efficiency and levels of customer service.
Branded Fares and Ancillaries may be accessed when the price is shown in green after FQ, FQBB,
FQBA or FQBC formats.

Depending on the airline and route, some Fare Shopping results may return branded Fares.
Branded fares are displayed with a green fare total, while unbranded fares are displayed in plain

Some Fare Shopping results may contain both Network (GDS) and Direct Payment Carrier fare
options. However, Network and Direct Payment Carrier segments are never combined within the
same branded fares option.
Direct Payment Carriers display a pound sign/hash tag # to the left of the carrier code.

Unbundled Fares
Overview
Unbundled fares often represent the lowest available fare (subject to availability). Travelport’s Best Buy
(FQBB) and Fare Shopping (FS) seek to provide the lowest available fare for any given itinerary. Therefore,
these searches automatically consider economy unbundled fares.
Because Economy Unbundled Fares are very restrictive, customers may not want to purchase these fares.
You can exclude Economy Unbundled Fare from fare requests by either:
