This study examines the relationship between sleep hours and academic performance in high school students. It will employ a descriptive survey research design using questionnaires to collect quantitative data from 170 students aged 12-16 from 5 sections of General Santos City National High School. The questionnaire contains questions on demographics, sleep habits, sleep environment, and academic performance. Statistical analysis including mean, standard deviation, frequency distribution, and t-tests will be used to analyze the data and determine if there is a significant relationship between sleep hours and academic performance.

Research Design
The researcher aims to examine the relationship between sleep hours
and academic performance in high school students. This study will employ a descriptive survey research design. The survey research could use quantitative strategies such as using questionnaires with numerically rated items. The researcher selected 5 Grade 7 Sections of General Santos City High School. Research Locale: This study was conducted in General Santos City National High School known as the Mega School in the entire Region XII. The respondents chose this locale because it offered two (2) sessions of classes one(1) in the morning which will start in six (6:00am) and will end up to twelve thirty (12:10) in the afternoon and in the afternoon, session will start at(12:30PM) twelve thirty and will end up to (6:40PM)six forty in the evening. Research Respondents: The study will involve a sample of high school students aged 12-16 years old from 5 G7 SECTION General Santos City National High School. Located in General Santos City. Sample Size: The table below presents the distribution of the respondents. The total population of G7 students is 2200 in General Santos City National High School. Upon calculating the sample size, the research obtained a result of one hundred sixty-nine (169). Hence, the respondents in this study will be one hundred seventy (170) students. A sample size of 170 students (76 males and 94 females) was randomly selected from the 5 section of General Santos City National High School. Instrumentation: Designing a questionnaire for this study on the relationship between sleep hours and academic performance in high school students involves carefully selecting questions that capture relevant information. The first section of the questionnaire shows the demographic information of the respondents such as name, age, gender and grade and section. The next will be Sleep-related Questions, the Sleep Habits/Pattern, Sleep Environment and the Academic Performance. Below is the table. Selection Process: In selecting the respondents, the researcher used Sampling Method: Determine the most appropriate sampling method to select participants from the target population. The researcher communicated to the school head of General Santos City National High School, and asked permission to let the students answer the questionnaire for the survey purpose. Data Collection: The researcher administered the questionnaire and gathered data from the selected participants. This can be done in various ways, such as distributing paper-based questionnaires in classrooms, using online survey platforms, or conducting face-to-face interviews. Data Analysis: The researcher sends a letter of permission addressed to the School Heads of General Santos City National High School. After the approval of the letter researcher introduced the purpose and objectives of the study to the respondents and also informed the respondents of their rights and ensure data privacy and protection. After the introduction, the researcher distributed questionnaires to the respondents through printed and electronic forms Data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics, such as mean, standard deviation, and frequency distribution. The T test a statistical test was used to determine if there is a significant difference between the means of two groups and the relationship between sleep hours and academic performance. Statistical Tools: The researcher utilized descriptive statistics, such as mean, standard deviation, and median, can provide a summary of the sleep hours and academic performance variables. T-Test or Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)was also used: It aims to compare academic performance between two or more groups based on sleep hours (e.g., comparing high sleepers vs. low sleepers), a t-test or ANOVA can be used. T-tests compare means between two groups, while ANOVA compares means among more than two groups.
