The Central government has been working on the ambitious Vande Bharat Express train project since
2019. It would improve the country's convenience and railway infrastructure. Reduced journey times
and affordable facilities similar to those found on aeroplanes are the goals of these semi-high-speed
trains. On June 27, 2023, PM Modi officially opened five brand-new Vande Bharat Express trains,
bringing the total to 23. Here is a peek at the project, which has a tight schedule to complete 75 Vande
Bharat Express trains by Independence Day this year.

Vande Bharat Express: What is it?

The Vande Bharat Express is a semi-high-speed rail project that will make its debut in 2019 on the New
Delhi-Varanasi route. These trains are operated and maintained by the Indian Railways and are also
known as Train 18. The better domestic "Kavach" Technology, also known as the Train Collision
Avoidance System (TCAS), is found on the Vande Bharat Express trains.

These trains have reclining seats as on aeroplanes, an entertainment system, and automatic doors, to
mention a few amenities. Although they are now moving at a pace of 160 km per hour, they have a top
speed of 180 km per hour. Additionally, the train's coaches are individually fitted with fire detection and
communication systems.

By the time India celebrates its 75th anniversary of independence in August 2023, the Central
government hopes to have 75 Vande Bharat Express trains running. It is envisaged that the aim may be
met by the government routinely releasing these trains.

Train service will begin on Vande Bharat Express in June 2023.

Bangalore-Hubbali-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express

This is the second Vande Bharat Express train in the State after the Chennai-Mysore Vande Bharat
Express, connecting the important Karnataka cities of Dharwad, Hubbali, and Devangere with Bangalore.
PM Modi officially opens it on June 27, 2023. The recently inaugurated line will depart from Bangalore at
5:45 AM and arrive in Dharwad, Karnataka, at 11:58 AM, covering a distance of about 490 kilometres in
six hours and 13 minutes. It will be open every day but Tuesdays, six days a week.

Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat Express

The Khajuraho, Bhopal, and Indore link will be the focus of the Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat Express. The
commute will take roughly three hours instead of the current five, a reduction of about 2.5 hours. The
first express of this kind for the State was the New Delhi-Bhopal Vande Bharat Express. It also begins
operations on June 27, 2023.

Bhopal-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express

The Mahakaushal area and the central section of Madhya Pradesh will be connected by the second
Vande Bharat Express train, which will be officially launched in the State on June 27, 2023. Major tourist
destinations in the State including Bheraghat, Pachmarhi, and Satpura, to name a few, would be served
by the route. Except on Sunday, the train will run every day. The route is home to a number of other
extremely fast trains, including the Delhi-Bhopal Vande Bharat Express, which is thought to be among
the nation's fastest trains in this category.

Vande Bharat Express from Mumbai to Goa

Due to a serious train disaster that occurred in the Balasore region of Odisha, the debut date of the
Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express was changed from June 3 to June 27, 2023. This train for Goa is the
Madgaon (Goa)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express. With the Mumbai-Goa line, you may travel at least an
hour faster and complete the 585 kilometre journey in roughly 7.5 hours. Except on Fridays, the train is
intended to run six days a week; however, during monsoon season, it will only run three days per week.
Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express

On June 27, 2023, the Prime Minister also flagged off the first Vande Bharat Express train for the Bihar
and Jharkhand area, connecting the two State capitals of Patna and Ranchi. In around six hours, the
queue will go the distance. The train will travel through the communities of Tatisilwai, BIT Mesra,
Barkakana, and Hazaribagh, which are located along one of Indian Railways' densest lines.

Tambaram-Sengottai line in Chennai were both officially opened on April 8, 2023, by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi.

The newest train has been launched at the Chennai Central Railway Station. It is the second Vande
Bharat Express train to depart from Chennai after the Chennai Central-Mysore Vande Bharat Express.
There are eight coaches total on the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express, including one executive
coach. It travels 496 kilometres in just over six hours, stopping along the route in Tiruppur, Erode, and
Salem. Additionally, the train runs every day except Wednesdays.

Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express

On April 8, 2023, the PM also opened the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express from the
Secunderabad Railway Station. The train travels between the two locations at an average speed of
around 77 km/h, cutting the distance's travel time in half to about eight hours. At Nalgonda, Guntur,
Ongole, and Nellore, it stops. The train runs every day of the week except Tuesdays. At the same
ceremony, the cornerstone for the renovation of the Secunderabad Railway Station was also laid. An
estimated 720 crore rupees would be spent on the project.

After the Secunderabad-Vishakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express, which debuted on January 15, 2023,
the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express is the second train from Telangana.

New Delhi-Bhopal Vande Bharat Express

The Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi and the Rani Kamlapati Railway Station in Bhopal are
connected by the Bhopal-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express. On April 3, 2023, the Prime Minister
signalled it to depart from the Rani Kamlapati Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh. The train stops three
times throughout its 700 kilometre journey—at Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi, Gwalior, and Agra railway

every day.

The price varies a little depending on the route. The cost of the tickets, which include the optional food

Vande Bharat Express Trains: Impact on the real estate

Major cities like Delhi, Bangalore, and Bhopal, among others, rely heavily on the Vande Bharat Express
trains to link them to vital areas of their respective States. As a result of this connection, it is anticipated
that the interiors of the States would see an increase in transit-oriented development. Because of the
high-speed connectivity, the areas are anticipated to see increased foot traffic and denser marketplaces
for residential and commercial real estate transactions. According to experts, such improvements may
pave the way for capital growth and, over time, turn some places into hotspots for investments.
