    Read the instructions for each task carefully.
    Answer both of the tasks.
    Write at least 150 words for Task 1.
    Write at least 250 words for Task 2.
    Write your answers in the answer booklet.
    Write clearly in pen or pencil. You may make alterations, but make sure your work is
    easy to read.
    At the end of the test, hand in both this question paper and your answer booklet.

    The graph below shows the proportion of four different materials that were
    recycled from 1982 to 2010 in a particular country.

    Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and
    make comparisons where relevant.

    Write at least 150 words.

    WRITING TASK 2

    You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

    Write about the following topic:

    Learning English at school is often seen as more important than learning local
    languages. If these are not taught, many are at risk of dying out.

    In your opinion, is it important for everyone to learn English? Should we try to


    ensure the survival of local languages and, if so, how?

    Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own
    knowledge or experience.

    Write at least 250 words.
