Quantitative Data Analysis I with SPSS

SPSS is a major software of data analysis in social research. Designed for researchers involved in collecting,
processing, and modeling data from social surveys, this course will teach how to use SPSS from inputting and
analyzing data, as well as interpreting and presenting results. The course is not only to teach main skills of
using this software, but also to make sense of each specific procedure of analysis with concrete examples.
Descriptive and inferential statistics as well as regression methods are all covered in this two-day workshop,
which will make up a solid foundation for learners to conduct data analyses in social research. The course
highlights the hand-on practices of real-world examples, in order to enhance learning experience and
understanding of statistics.

Important reminders:
1. Courses are held from 9am to 6pm at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, NUS Kent Ridge campus
2. Participants are invited to indicate their interest for the respective course/s via this link
3. Please note that the courses will proceed, with a minimum enrolment of 10 participants. Participant
numbers are capped to ensure quality of delivery and content for participants.
4. Course confirmation will be sent to participants around 3 weeks before the course starts.
5. Should there be any course cancellations, participants will be notified before the course dates.
6. Course registration withdrawals and refunds, if any, are subject to review by CFPR on a case-by-case basis.
7. Participants who receive the training grant are liable to pay back the SSG grant plus the prevailing Goods
and Services Tax (GST) to NUS if they do not fulfil the minimum attendance of 75%; do not complete the
prescribed assessments for the course/s, OR there's premature withdrawal from the course/s.
8. A certificate of completion will be given to participants who achieve a minimum of 75% attendance,
complete the prescribed assessment, and attain a grading for the respective course/s.
