    Campus Journalism Elimination

    Participants: All aspiring campus journalists in Junior and Senior High School.
    What: Campus Journalism Elimination
    When: 9:00AM, September 30, 2022
    Where: 9-Camia (For orientation), Designated rooms
    Things to bring: For the writing categories: Yellow pad, pen and correction tape.
    For Photojournalism: Digital Camera with 24.3MP (but not DSLR) maximum and
    laptop
    For Editorial Cartooning: A4 bond paper and pencil #2 with eraser
    For layout artists: Laptop with charger and extension wire
    Mechanics:

    Individual Contest (English and Filipino)

    For the following categories:


    News writing, Editorial writing, Feature writing, Science and Technology writing, Copyediting and Headline writing,
    and editorial cartooning

    1. Participants will be given a fact sheet.


    2. The participant must write an article following the format of the category he/she has chosen. He/she will be
    given an hour to write the article.
    3. Code number will be written on the upper left of the paper for anonymity.
    4. The article will be submitted to the coach of the category he/she has chosen.

    For sports writing:


    1. Participants will watch a recorded game.
    2. They will be given an hour to write a sport article.
    3. Code number will be written on the upper left of the paper for anonymity.
    4. The article will be submitted to the coach of the category he/she has chosen.

    For Photojournalism:
    1. Participants will be given a topic.
    2. They will be asked to take a control shot and several photos based on the given topic for an hour. (SD Card must
    be empty before the elimination)
    3. Another 1 hour will be allotted for lay outing the control shot and five chosen photos with captions. They will
    use pseudo names for the credits.
    4. Output will be printed for submission.
