The Hisuian Expansion
The Hisuian Expansion
The Hisuian Expansion
Intro
Welcome to the Hisuian Expansion! This is PTA 2.1 optional content intended to add Pokemon
introduced in Pokemon Legends Arceus to your tabletop game. Additionally this expansion
contains some mechanics introduced from Legends Arceus such as Effort Values and the
Strong and Agile style. Some of the moves have also been changed to allow an optional way to
play depending on how the campaign is balanced.
Pokemon
When leveling up a Hisuian pokemon you may notice moves on its learnset that do not appear
in Legends Arceus. These moves have been added to improve the leveling experience for the
player and GM. Moves added this way have been marked with an asterisk.
Certain Pokemon can evolve into their Hisuian counterpart with the same evolution
requirements. For example, Dartrix could evolve into Hisuian Decidueye or Normal Decidueye. It
is up to the GM to determine which form the Pokemon evolves into. Be sure to communicate
with your GM to see how they determine evolution for Hisuian Pokemon. One exception is
Goomey which will evolve only into Hisuian Sliggoo while in the rain, which will then evolve into
Hisuian Goodra at lvl 50.
No tutor moves are listed for most Pokémon present in the expansion as we believe in the
“Official Reference” clause. This means that if you can reference that a Pokemon can get a
move in Pokemon Legends Arceus, then you can tutor it.
Certain Pokemon Skills and Moves are referenced by the Galar Expansion. You can view the
Galar Expansion using this link: The Galar Expansion

Alternate Moves
Certain moves in Pokemon Arceus have their effect(s) changed. If a player wishes to use these
versions they should check with their GM to see if they would be a good fit for their game. To
obtain an alternate move a player must have their Pokemon learn the altered move and forgo
using the base version.
If you use an alternate move that normally would be affected by an Ability, Feature, Move, Trait
or Weather: That move is considered its base move for those interactions and vice versa. For
example
The move Solar Beam is affected by both Wet and Strong Sun Weathers the same way it is
affected by Rainy and Sunny weather conditions. Additionally Damp prevents Explosion and
Self-Destruct the same way it prevents Boom and Destruction.
Your campaign may allow you to use both the original and alternate of a move, if the GM allows
this, keep in mind where these attacks would benefit your strategies. If your campaign uses this
ruling the alternate names of these moves are in parentheses.

New Skills
Chopper - Pokemon with the Chopper skill can use a melee-ranged move to activate Chopper.
The move’s frequency is expended to destroy terrain on a successful Attack Roll with that
attack. The move’s frequency determines the size of a breakable object. An at-will move allows
the Pokemon to destroy 1 square meter, EOT allows 2 square meters, Battle allows 3 square
meters and Center moves can destroy 5 square meters. If the user uses a Max Move, they can
destroy 7 square meters. If an object is considered durable the GM may declare before you
expended the move’s frequency that it cannot be destroyed by this Skill if it can be, the
pokemon must either make a Power Check or fail to destroy the terrain.
Double Jump - Pokemon With Double Jump may use their jump skill while in the air once before
landing. Pokemon using this feature cannot jump to a height higher than 1.5x the amount listed
in their jump skill.
Origin Form - Giratina, Palkia and Dialga can change to a different form when certain conditions
are met. Giratina can become the Origin Form when in the Reverse World, or when it holds part
of the Reverse World within itself, outside of the Reverse World. Otherwise, Giratina changes
into its Altered Forme. Dialga can become Origin Form whenever it is holding an Adamant
Crystal, or when it is in the Realm of Time, otherwise it becomes its normal form. Palkia can
become Origin Form whenever it is holding an Lustrous Globe, or when it is in the Realm of
Space, otherwise it becomes its normal form.
Usurper of Time - Dialga has gained it’s full power from Origin Form and now controls the flow of
time itself to such a degree that it may challenge Arceus themself. While In Origin form Dialga
has a barrier of 500 hitpoints and cannot take damage to its health bar until this pool is reduced
to 0. Dialga can take an additional turn each round determined by its speed score divided by 2;
repeat this process for each trainer facing Dialga. During Initiative count 100 losing ties Dialga
uses one of the Following Abilities, once an ability has been used all other abilities must be
expended before it can be chosen again:
Parallel Self | An additional Dialga enters the battlefield with the current hp, statuses and
expended moves for 1d4+1 rounds. The added Dialga does not benefit from additional turns or
The Abilities of Usurper of Time and cannot be captured but does disappear if a successful
capture check is made or it is reduced to 0 hit points or fewer. Additionally if the added Dialga
makes contact with the original it takes 10d20+20 damage ignoring defenses.
Time Stop | Dialga prevents all Pokemon without the Time Traveler Skill and All Trainers from
taking Actions, Shifting, using a Move or using a Skill this Round. During this Round Dialga
cannot use moves with damage die rolls except Roar of Time. A Trainer can attempt to make a
DC 25 Concentration check versus this effect to act normally this round. During the turn after
Time Stop Dialga cannot use an Ability from Usurper of Time.
Reflection of Time | Dialga looks to its past self and Selects one of the following: It restores its
barrier by 100 hitpoints to a maximum of 200. It Fully recovers from all active effects on it
including statuses, trainer abilities and move effect(s). It regains use of all its expended
frequencies on moves.
Usurper of Space - Palkia has gained it’s full power from Origin Form and now controls the
fabric of space itself to such a degree that it may challenge Arceus themself. While In Origin
form Palkia has a barrier of 500 hitpoints and cannot take damage to its health bar until this pool
is reduced to 0. During Initiative count 100 losing ties Palkia uses one of the Following Abilities;
Palkia can chose another ability to use each round at half the initiative of the previous Ability:
Repeat this process for each trainer facing Palkia, once an ability has been used two other
abilities must be expended before it can be chosen again:
Localize | Palkia focuses Space into a single point and uses Spacial Rend Ignoring its
Frequency. All Targets of its choice must make a DC 25 Speed Check or be hit by Spacial Rend.
Palkia must still hit the target(s) to inflict the damage and effect(s) of Spacial Rend. Afterward all
targets that failed the save appear as close to the targeted location as possible of Palkia’s
choice.
Scatter | Palkia forces all Targets and/or objects of its choice to a different place it is aware of. If
Palkia moves a target to a location outside of the battlefield it can choose to also occupy a
space within battling range of that target simultaneously. Scatter returns all displaced targets to
the original battlefield when Localize is used. A Pokemon with Space Bender is unaffected by
scatter.
Horizon | Palkia changes the distance between all things, reducing all ranged attacks made by
its foes to melee for the rest of the round. Additionally its moves have a range of Field for that
duration.
Meld | Palkia increases their Shift Skills by +2 for the remainder of the fight then shifts up to its
shift speed. Palkia ignores all terrain and may shift through Objects, Trainers and Pokemon
using any of its shift skills for the rest of the Round. A Pokemon or Trainer that starts their turn
within Palkia takes 2d20 damage ignoring defenses and resistances and is shunted to the
nearest location outside of Palkia of its choice.
Force of Nature - Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus, and Enamorus have two sets of stats and
can swap between their Incarnate and Therian form when the Reveal Glass is shown to them
outside of combat.
New Statuses
Items, features and abilities that cure or are immune to the Freeze or Sleep Status(es) are also
immune and cure Frostbite from Freeze and Drowsy from Sleep. This also applies to abilities
and features that can inflict these statuses as per Synchronize.
Frostbite
The Special Attack Stat is treated as if it has been lowered 2 Combat Stages. Once per turn,
you may try to roll for self curing the Frostbite in place of a Trainer Action or Move. On d20, the
check is a 17. Ice-Type Pokémon cannot be frostbitten. At the end of every round, a Frostbitten
Pokémon loses 1/10th of its Max HP. A Trainer instead loses 1/20th of his or her Max HP. A
Pokémon does not suffer the effects of Frostbite while in a Poke Ball or while at rest out of
combat. A Trainer does not suffer the effects of Frostbite while at rest.
Drowsy
A Drowsy Pokemon must roll 1d20 before using a Move or Shifting on their turn. On 1-10
they cannot use a Move this turn. A Drowsy Pokemon takes 2 extra STAB from the attacker in
damage from Attacks with Damage Die rolls. Trainers must roll 1d20 before using an Action or
Shifting on their turn. On 1-10 they cannot use a standard action this turn.
Effort Levels
Effort Levels are Special Stat Boosts given to a pokemon in addition to other stats. Check with
your GM if your game will be using Effort Levels. An effort Level doesn’t count towards added
stats or base stats and can be boosted via Vitamin Slots and training.
Effort Levels typically start at level 0 but certain wild pokemon may appear with effort levels
higher than 0 across their stats. Each effort level may be increased to Level 10. For each Effort
Level a Pokemon has in a stat that it gets a +1 boost to that stat (Maximum +10).
After a Critical Battle each of your Pokemon earn an Effort Level. Your GM will inform you when
you win a Critical Battle this way. Pokemon that are KO’ed during the battle still earn Effort
Levels. Effort Levels earned this way cannot exceed Level 5.
Effort Level Training Can be done during any 4 hour downtime with a select pokemon. To start
this training you select an effort value below 10 on a pokemon you own. When attempting an
Effort Level Training session you must make a DC 10+current effort level Training Check.
Training Checks use a skill determined by the GM based on your training method. If you use the
same method in succession the DC may be increased by +2 Cumulatively. To avoid this it's
recommended to vary your training between stats/styles.
*Alternate Rule: Modern EV Training - Your Pokemon have a maximum Effort Level total of 22
Levels.
