Test construction pertains to preparation of test and item analysis and selection of
reliable and valid item to assess the learning process, whereas the test standardization
deals with the development of norms. Designing tests is an important part of assessing
students understanding of course content and their level of competency in applying what
they are learning. Under the rational/theoretical approach to test construction, the
process both begins and ends with informed judgements based on theory. Teachers
prepare test such as summative test, unit test and periodic test.
