    Bliss Elementary School in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija held a five-day One Health Week activity to promote the health of students and staff. The OK sa DepEd focal person oriented teachers on the activity and distributed hygiene kits. Students participated in slogan and poster contests to inform parents. The school also determined recipients for the School-Based Feeding Program. On subsequent days, students learned proper handwashing techniques through the WASH IN SCHOOLS program and personnel checked each classroom for the National Drug Education Program. On the final day, the district nurse provided blood pressure and sugar testing for teachers and staff. The activity successfully promoted health awareness and programs across the school.

    OK SA DepEd Accomplishment Report 2022-2023

    Health is wealth. Truly, everything is nothing without health. When someone is


    healthy and free from any sickness, then that someone possesses a wealth. DepEd launches the
    Oplan Kalusugan sa Department of Education (OK sa DepEd) which is a convergence of DepEd’s
    health programs, plans, policies, and activities for their effective and efficient implementation
    at the school level, in partnership with various stakeholders. OK sa DepEd shall focus on
    DepEd’s major school health and nutrition programs specifically the School-Based Feeding
    Program (SBFP), National Drug Education Program (NDEP), Adolescent Reproductive Health
    Education (ARH), Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Schools (WinS), and Medical,
    Dental, and Nursing Services. Other health and nutrition programs will continue to be
    implemented in support of these five flagship programs.

    This is relation to QUA Memorandum No. 00-821-0097 titled Support and


    participation in the celebration of National Events of the Administration Strands Program and
    Services leading to the opening of the school year 2022-2023. Among the said events on One
    Health Week institutionalized by DepEd Order No. 28, series of 2018 or the Policy and
    Guidelines on Oplan Kalusugan sa Department of Education.

    OK sa DepEd focal person, with the school principal Joji M. Tecson, initiated the
    orientation on One Health Week activity and followed by the distribution of hygiene kits.

    Second day, the school conducted slogan and poster making contest to provide
    information to the parents. After the program, the School- based feeding Program (SBFP)
    determined the recipients for the SBFP.

    On the third day WASH IN SCHOOL Program (WINS) was implemented. The WINS
    focal person conducted a hand washing of pupils. They were taught the proper way of hand
    washing and its importance.

    On the fourth day, They checked the NDEP CORNER in every classroom to
    strengthen the campaign against the use of drugs.

    On the last day of the activity, the district nurse rendered service on BP taking,and
    sugar testing to the teaching and non-teaching staff of Bliss Elementary School. The activity
    was very successful and fruitful. The five-day -activities was very successful through the efforts
    of the teachers and administrators.
