CHAPTER FOUR
3.1 Data Presentation and Analysis
This chapter is dedicated to the presentation analysis and interpretation of

data obtained by the researcher in the conduct of this research. Primary data
was obtain from questionnaire administered to a total of one hundred and
sixty respondents was presented using tables to aid easy understanding.
Section 4.1.1 presents the bio-social information of the respondents: section
4.1.2 presents the descriptive statistics of the questionnaire: and final, 4.1.3
presents the hypotheses test result.

The above table shows that the frequency of female 60% is more than the
frequency of male respondents 40% in the study area, which shows there is no
mono gender in this study area.

The above table 2 shows the age of respondents in the study area
which shows that majority of the respondent are adult and fall within
independence ratio in the labour force.

The above table 3 shows the marital status of respondents, 80%
respondents are married while 20% respondents are single. It show that
majority of the respondent are married and are saddle with the responsibility
of meeting their family need. Which means they move around a lot and will
be able to give useful information in the study area.

The above table 4 shows the4 religion of respondents, 60% of the
respondents shows that they are Muslim while 40% are Christian.

The above table 5 shows that 33.3% of the respondents are self-
employed and 30% are farmer, 23.3% are civil servant while student and
trading are 6.7% each: this show that majority of the respondents are not into
while collar job.

The above table 6 shows the nativity of respondents, the majority
51.7% of the respondents were indigene while 48.3% were non-indigene.
This shows the settlements majorly occupied by indigene.

The above table 7 show the frequency and percentage of the
respondents in the study are the majority of the respondent earns between
25,000-30,000 with 36.7% followed by the respondents who earn between
15,000-20,000 with 30%, fooled by 45,000 above with 13.3 followed, by
5,000-10,000 with 11.7% while 8.3% of the respondents earn 35,000-
40,000. This show the level of development in the study area.

The table above shows the level of education of the respondents
majority of the respondent has primary and secondary school education with
66.6% followed by respondents that went to tertiary institution with 23.4%
while 10% have Quaranic education this show that the majority of the
respondents are educated or have formal education.

4.3 period of keeping waste in the residents for the better hygiene of
the residents in Lokoja Local Government Area, a prompt disposal of the
waste is the most important factor to be considered. Table 4.3 reveals that
82.5% of the households interviewed in Lokoja Local Government Area,
indicate that they keep their waste for less than three ways a significant
13.4% proportion of the respondents keeps their waste between 3-6 days
while 4.1% of the residents keep their solid waste generated in their
premises for more than 6 days before disposing of them.
