NOTE
Before attempting to install or use the device, review all safety indicators in this document
to help prevent injury, equipment damage, or downtime.

moderate injury.
• Installation/service personnel must be familiar with general device test practices and
electrical awareness, and safety precautions must be followed.
• Before performing visual inspections, tests, or periodic maintenance on this device or
associated circuits, isolate or disconnect all hazardous live circuits and sources of
electric power to the relay.
• Failure to denergize live sources prior to servicing, commissioning or
decommissioning could expose you to dangerous voltages causing injury or death.
• Ensure that all connections to the product are correct so as to avoid accidental risk of
shock and/or fire, prior to energizing the system and incoming sources.
• Follow the requirements of this manual, including adequate wiring size, terminal
wiring practices, wire type, terminal torque settings, coil voltage to be applied, and
adequate isolation of harness and cable routing.
• Use the device only for its intended purpose and application.
• In addition to the safety precautions mentioned, all electrical connections made must
respect the applicable local jurisdiction electrical code.
• Ensure that the sources applied to the device, i.e coil voltage input, match the ratings
specified on the relay nameplate. Do not apply voltage in excess of the specified
limits.
• No wires should enter the top cutout and cross down to the lower side of the relay. In
doing this, the wire would be outside the barrier and when the cover is installed, would
be pushed in against the shunts and prevent proper action of the moving contact. NO
wires can be outside the barrier which could lead to relay failure.
• Never use tape wrapped around the terminal lug and the wire insulation. The tape
may in time unwrap and interfere with the contact gap, preventing the relay from
proper operation.
• The terminal screws are to be tightened from 15-20 inch-pounds. Exceeding 20 Inch-
pounds may damage terminal screw and relay contacts.
• The relay must be installed in an enclosure or a panel preventing access to energized
hazardous live parts. If installed in the door of a cabinet, the relay must be installed
with the provided plastic cover.
