As a student of this generation, we can say that every technology is evolving or innovating around the world. In addition, in our field, in accounting, we need the type of computer that is flexible, multitasking, can run multiple programs at one time, has a good operating system, and have a bigger memory. In that way, we can perform well in our field.
Thus, we did a poll on what type of computer that best fits to our lifestyle and tasks that we need to perform as an accounting student. Then, the majority voted for the hybrid notebook tablet. We believe that in this type of computer will surely make our work easier and faster. In instance of it is when we have a meeting, the said type of computer is easy to open unlike the personal computer that it takes 2-3 minutes to be open. Furthermore, in making financial statements, Microsoft excel and Microsoft word application in this type of computer are easily accessible because it is very convenient to use. With that, you can save a lot of time.
II. Programs Expected and Desired Speed
How many programs we expect to use at one time and how fast we desire our response time to be?
As we observed, in our field, we need a lot of programs to use at one time for the outcome of our financial matters to be accurate, comprehensible, corroborated, comparable, and relevant. In conclusion, approximately, there are 3-5 programs we expect to use at one time. Having a lower response rate, such as 10 milliseconds and below is fine but it would be more ideal to have a response rate between one to five milliseconds as it allows for more distinct motion and less of what is called “ghosting” especially when playing an online game. This will also prevent any other latency or input lag that can cause a delay while using the gadget.
III. List of Hardware and Software Requirements
❖ In terms of software, one of the first steps is determining what functions you want your PC to perform. As students, we aim to primarily use it for basic tasks like web browsing, word processing, video editing and gaming. This will help guide our choices in terms of processor power, graphics capabilities, and memory capacity. ❖ Another factor is the compatibility. It is important to ensure that our chosen software is compatible with the operating system of our gadget. Additionally, it must also be compatible with our existing peripherals such as printers or scanners. ❖ Hard drive space is essential for storing files, programs, and operating systems hence, it is a must to consider how much storage capacity you require based on your intended usage. Sufficient memory (RAM) is vital for smooth multitasking and running resource-intensive applications hence, we are considering 8GB as a starting point. ❖ When it comes to the hard drive, an SSD is the ultimate choice for us students and gamers . With its fast program load times, it caters perfectly to our busy schedules and heavy workloads. Additionally, an SSD offers significantly faster read, write, and load speeds compared to an HDD – all of this convenience does come with a slightly higher price, but the performance boost is well worth it.

When purchasing for computing devices, it is imperative to consider both the device's technical specifications and its price. And, If we are talking about something that is useful, then we would choose the Dell XPS 13. The DELL XPS 13, despite the fact that it can be purchased for a price that is lower than that of the MICROSOFT PRO 8, provides all of the essential features that a student like us is required to have in a personal computer. Users who are interested in having an experience similar to that of a traditional laptop will find that it is more suitable because the screen is larger, the performance is better, and the battery life is longer. Because of this, it is ideally suited for endeavors that require a significant amount of resources. It is possible that their various specifications are comparable to one another, but the aspect of the DELL XPS 13 that appeals to us the most is the fact that it typically comes with processors that have higher performance levels as well as graphics options that are more specialized. Because of this, it is a better option for activities that require a lot of resources, such as video editing or gaming. In addition, because it typically comes with a larger display, it provides improved visual real estate for completing tasks involving productivity as well as multimedia and these are the aspects that fascinate us the most about the whole package. The MICROSOFT PRO 8 may provide greater versatility, portability, and inking capabilities, making it more suitable for users who require a tablet form factor and stylus support, but the DELL XPS 13 met the standards that we are looking for in a computing device and specific needs that aligned best with my requirements.
