I- Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the student shall be able to:
1. Define and illustrate a Polynomial Function
2. Draw the Graph of a Polynomial Function.
3. Master the way of solving problem involving Polynomial Function.
II- Subject Matter
III-Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
Before we start let us all stand and pray.
Who wants to lead the prayer? Yes ______.
(the student and teacher pray Our
Father)
2. Greetings
Good Morning Class! Good Morning ma’am Jolina
3. Classroom Conditioning
Class before you sit, kindly pick up the
litters under your chair and keep them in
your bag. Then check if the chairs are (the students pick up the litters and
properly arranged. arrange their chairs)
1. Checking of Attendance
Before we start, let us check first your
attendance
Who is the secretary of the class? (The student tells who the secretary
is.)
The 1st person will read the question and pass it to the
2nd person. The second person, after getting the answer
or the question he/she will turn 6 times before she can
pass it to the 3rd one. And the third one after hearing the
answer or the question he/she will do 6 jumping jacks
before passing the message to the 4th person. The 4th
person will rotate his/her hips 6 times then he will pass
the answer on the 5th one. The 5th one will reach for
his/her toes 6 times before passing the answer to the last
person and the last person will eat 4 polvoron and
he/she will shout the answer.
Yes ma’am.
Did you enjoy our game?
Okay all of you please arrange the chair and please sit (student will go to their seat and
down for able us to start our discussion. arrange all the chair)
Where in
n is a nonnegative integer
a 0 , a 1, … , an are real numbers called coefficient
n
a n x is the leading term
a n is the leading coefficient
a 0 Is the constant term.
Now that you are familiar with the form of Polynomial None ma’am.
Function let us now discuss a topic that has something
to do with the x- intercept of a graph of the Polynomial
Function.
Yes _____?
Synthetic division ma’am.
Okay Very good! That is one method. Let us try.
p 6
=
q 1
1 -3 -2 4 not a root!
-1 1 -4 1 6
-1 5 -6
Let us substitute. 1
What is the value of a?
-5
B?
6
C?
y=03−4(0)2 +0+ 6
y=0−0+ 0+6
y=6
(the student plot the point)
The y- intercept is 6. This means the graph will also
pass through
(0, 6)
y=x ( x+ 6 ) ( x +1 ) ( x−1)
Who wants to answer? Yes ______. (the student will answer on the board)
y=x ( x+ 6 ) ( x +1 ) ( x−1)
x=0 ; x=−6 ; x =−1; x=1
Generalization
Did you understand?
Yes Ma’am.
Do you have any question?
None ma’am.
If you don’t have any question, I have questions to all of
you.
Nice answer!
Okay, good!
