Summation Notation
It is used to denote the sum of values.
∑ (reads “sigma”) shall be employed to signify that
the sum of the values of the variables that follow
is desired.

Weighted Mean
- an average where each value has a specific weight
or frequency assigned to it.
FORMULA
σ 𝑥𝑤
𝑊𝑒𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝐴𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑔𝑒 = σ 𝑤
Where 𝑥 is a data value and 𝑤 is the weight assigned
to that data value. The sum is taken over all data
shs.mapua.edu.ph
values.

Educational Technology, and 87 in Personality
Education. If Math subjects weigh 5 units and other
subjects weigh 2 units, what is her GWA?

The Median
The median of ungrouped data arranged in an array.
(increasing or decreasing order of magnitude)
If you have an even number of items , the
median is the arithmetic average of two
middle
values.
If you have an odd number of items , the
shs.mapua.edu.ph
median is the middle observation.
shs.mapua.edu.ph

The weekly wages in pesos of a production worker in a
manufacturing company are: ₱720, ₱738, ₱750, ₱720,
₱732,
₱690, ₱696, ₱684, ₱762, ₱762, and ₱690. Find the mode.
