Lesson Plan (Pair of Lines)
February 22,2023
Teaching Date and Time Quarter Three
60 minutes
Content Standards
The learner will be able to demonstarte understanding of key
concepts of geometry and sizes, wme geometric relationships.
Performance
Standards
The learners will be able to create models of plane figures as well as
formulate and solve authentic problems involving sides accurately.
Learning Competency:
B. Developmental activities
a. Review
- Recall what was the last topic and ask questions.
b. Motivation ( Games )
Guess the Picture!
- Divide the class into two groups.
- Introduce the game guess the picture.
C. Lesson Proper
ACTIVITY
Show Me! (Group Activity)
- The students will stay with their groups.
- Each group will follow the instruction given in the activity.
1. Draw a figure showing lines SM and RT, intersect at P and forming right angles. Then answer
the questions that follow.
Questions:
a. So the two intersecting lines divide the plane into four regions?
b. What is the greates measure of regions in which plane will be divided by 2 intersecting lines.
ANALYSIS
- What have you noticed on the pictures earlier?
- What have you observe about the activity? What have you learned?
- what have you identified from the previous activity?
ABSTRACTION
(Present and Discuss New Lesson)
Topic: Pairs of lines
Pair of lines - are lines that are connected or related to each other.
Types of Pair of Lines (drawings and examples are written on the board)
1. Perpendicular lines - are lines that intersect at one point
and form a 90° angle.
2. Intersecting lines - are lines that meet at a point. When two lines intersect, they define angles
ar the point of intersection.
3. Parallel Lines - are lines that never intersect. The distance between the two lines os fixed and
the two lines are going in the same direction.
GENERALIZATIONS
- Look around your surroundings and name the things that you can see that forms a parallel,
intersecting, and perpendicular lines.
APPLICATION
Give me an example of the following and draw it on the board.
- perpendicular lines
- intersecting lines
- parallel lines
IV. EVALUATION
I. Know me better!
Directions: Identify pair of lines as intersecting, parallel, or perpendicular on the space under
each figure. (Draw the figures on the board)
