    CX - Designer

    CX-Designer is used to simulate a control program via interactive diagram (like GUI).
    The CX-Designer is designed after we finished a program using CX-Programmer.

    Open CX-Designer:

    Then, CX-Designer window will be opened as following:

    Select exit, if the above dialog box is appeared.


    Then, CX-Designer window will be appeared as following:

    Let’s start to make a screen design for an ON/OFF control of an output Lamp. Firstly,
    select File, then New:

    A configuration window will appear like figure below:


    Write the File Name, select the directory where we want to save it, and then click OK. A
    comment window will appear as the following figure:

    Click OK, and then the next comment’s window will appear:

    Click OK, and then the next window will appear:


    Select and drag any components used for a simulation like ON/OFF Button and Bit
    Lamp, etc., and then put into the Black Screen:

    Next, set the address at SERIALA:00000.00 following the address for ON/OFF Button
    which has been set in CX-Programmer. And so on.. similarly for other components. The
    window will be:
    Don’t forget to change the address of the components as we have been set in CX-
    Programmer. We set as following for the address of the second Button.

    Next, add a Bit Lamp in similar steps like we did for the Buttons.

    Don’t forget to set the address of the Bit Lamp as the output set in CX-Programmer,
    correctly.
    Next, save project all by clicking Save All menu:

    At this step, the program and simulation design have finished. Next step, how to
    connect/communicate between CX-Programmer and CX-Designer.

    Open CX-Programmer window, select Simulation and click PLC-PT Integrated


    Simulation:

    The following comment window will appear:

    Click OK and wait for the down-load process.


    The following window will appear when the connection/communication between CX-
    Programmer and CX-Designer success.
    When we want to stop/cancel the connection, click Simulation and select Work Online
    Simulator as following:

    End for a very short note. Let’s explore more about CX-Designer through more example
    problems, etc.
