2023-2024 Autumn Semester, 1 September 2023


Dear Students,

It is of utmost importance to us to provide our students with detailed information in the current
circumstances, therefore from time to time we will send up-to-date notifications.
The latest information about the measures having been implemented due to the coronavirus epidemic and
the changes in education can be found at this Coospace link.

Late course registration: 31st August – 5th September 2023


If you failed to register for your courses during the normal course registration period, there is a grace
period between the 31st August and 5th September 2023 - starting at midday on 31st August and ending at
midnight on 5th September - when you are be able to register for compulsory, optional and training courses
as well as modify or drop your already registered courses.

Change in the opening hours of the SIC on 5th September


Please be advised that on Tuesday, 5th September, the SIC will be available until 3 p.m. due to technical
reasons. This applies to the telephone service as well as the personal administration.
Mode of education in the 2023-24-1 semester
The Budapest Metropolitan University is planning to organize the education on campus with personal
attendance during the 2023/2024 autumn semester.

However, certain lectures will be held online via electronic educational platforms. The list of online courses
is available on CooSpace: Studies / Online course list. This list might be subject to change therefore it is
important that you check the venue of the courses in the Neptun when registering for them.

Attendance in lectures in art programmes for students who enrolled in or after 2022
Please note that for those students who commenced their studies in ART programmes in or after autumn
2022, it is obligatory to attend lectures as well as practical courses. For detailed description on attendance
policy, please read the relevant Sections 326-345 in the Student Requirement System.

What to do in case you are affected by the COVID-19 infection


Please find the updated guide on what to do in case you are affected by the COVID-19 infection or have been

Online sign-in period beyond the deadline


If you failed to meet the deadline (which was 31 July) to set your status for the 2023/2024 autumn
semester, there is a grace period until 5th September 2023. During this period 11 500 HUF will be charged
for signing in beyond the deadline.

Training week between 24th August – 8th September


In the 2023-24-1 autumn semester, trainings will take place during the following periods:
28 August – 8 September,
30 – 31 October,
2 – 3 November.

Project Week for ART students


In the 2023/24 autumn semester, the Project Week will take place on campus (in person)
between 4th and 8th September 2023.
Please note that this semester, the Project Week 1, 3, and 5 courses are being launched.
1. If you are advancing in your studies according to your recommended curriculum, you only need to
register for Project Week 3 or 5 accordingly.
2. If according to your recommended curriculum, Project Week 5. is an obligatory course, but you have not
fulfilled Project Week 1 or 3 yet, you have the option to take both or all three courses in the same semester.
Please be informed that the Project Week events will be organized between 4-8th September 2023, with in-
person attendance. To fulfill the course(s), you must participate in the mandatory events!
More information on the different mandatory events will be available on the courses’ CooSpace scenes after
registration for the Project Week 1, 3, and/or 5 course(s).

National Directorate- General for Aliens Policing-Harmat Street opening


We would like to inform you that between 20th June 2023 and 30th September 2023 the National
Directorate- General for Aliens Policing will open a client service office at 1108 Budapest, Harmat street 131.
An appointment reservation is mandatory for all procedures.
Application types to be handed in in this office:
- ONLY study-related applications (first issue, extension)

New bank details of METU


From 1st May 2023, the name and SWIFT code of Takarékbank has changed.
The new name of the bank is MHB Bank Nyrt. and the new SWIFT code is MKKBHUHB.
The new bank details can be found in the Payment methods at METU.pdf guide on CooSpace. Please make
sure that you provide these data when transferring fees to METU.
Transfers made with the previous bank name and SWIFT code were accepted until 31 st May 2023, but after
that they are returned.

SIC opening hours on each campus


Students can contact us via phone, email or in person according to the following:

Monday, Tuesday and Friday: 9 am to 5 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday: closed.

Our team answers e-mails during the working hours on workdays. Please note that the answer time is
within 2 workdays!
In the electronic question form you are required to provide the following data:
your name,
your Neptun code – please pay special attention to your correct Neptun code!
the relevant program concerning your question,
the email address registered in Neptun,
the subject and details of your question.

From 21st August 2023, the personal administration of the Student Information Centre is available during
the regular opening hours.

Mandatory Neptun password change in every 200 days


Please remember that due to IT security reasons you are required to change your password to your
Neptun/CooSpace accounts in Office365 in every 200 days.
You are going to receive an e-mail notification when your password change is due. Upon receiving this
notification, please make sure you your password. In case you do not change it, you will not be able to log in
to your Neptun and Coospace accounts. If your password expires, you can request for a new one at the
passadmin@metropolitan.hu email address. In the email please include your full name (as it is in the Neptun),
Neptun code and your date of birth.
