Q.1.]
Research in social psychology suggests that people are quick to
form a lasting impression of others, just by inferring a person’s
character traits from his or her single behavior. We do make a
judgment about that person’s trustworthiness and competence
in a few seconds.
Based on initial inference, we tend to predict the future
behavior of that person. Therefore, if any person behaved
absurdly with us, we expect him or her to behave similarly in
the next meeting. We don’t change our impression that easily.
Q.2.]
When I was in 10th std there was a match of cricket at school level.
The match was with a season ball. After a lot of practice of bowling I
bowled well but as I was the seam baller of the team, I was hardly
able to bat. In the innings when we were chasing the big target our
batsmen were going to pavilion quickly and there was one by one
falling of wickets. At last, after falling many wickets I was suppose to
bat on the field at that moment I was having a fear to bat against the
hard season ball because I have not practiced batting against a seam
baller. I started batting the first ball is up to come to me and there
was a lot of pressure on the team and the scoreboard. As first
delivery comes by fearing the ball, I drove the bat two early and ball
comes and hits me on the elbow side. As I had not worn the elbow
pad it scratched me so hardly that the grip of the ball was printed on
my elbow.
After that ball I was having two decisions, first to go to pavilion and
leave the stadium and second was to bat on the field for my team. I
motivated myself by seeing the scoreboard and to remove the fear
of the hard bowl from the mind. I use an idea of thinking the hard
ball as a normal tennis ball which will not hit me that much and after
thinking I started batting well. I scored my first run, and going further
and further I scored well runs that the match was won by my team
by participation of mine on the field instead of being injured. At that
moment I was very proud of mine and my team though.
3. Case Study
John…
… “this sets the standard. If you wish to continue living with us,
please change your attitude and keep our home as neat and clean
as you saw it now.”
a. What are the set of etiquette that John needs to follow when he
is staying as a housemate with his friends? (5 Marks)
Q.3.]
a.]
Etiquette: Etiquette is defined as the formal manners and rules
that are followed in social or professional settings.
To Recognize:
John should recognize his faults about not sharing the work of
house and making the mess in the room which was neat and
clean, he should apologies his mistakes towards Tony and
Robert.
b. Assume that you have to deal with John. What would you tell
John to resolve the situation? (5 Marks)
Q.3.]
b.] If I was in the place of Tony and Robert, I would tell to john that
whichever place he has messed up should be in proper place and to
clean the untidy room which he and his friends have make because
he should come to know about discipline and etiquettes in social that
how to behave and how to live clean and tidy. To make all work
possible quickly john should share the house work and do it
regularly. He should not step back to his responsibility. I will try to
recognize him his mistakes and faults and tell him how to resolve
them. And give him warning that if he wish to live with me then he
has to change his attitude to positive and keep the home clean and
tidy. I will teach him to take the responsibilities which he has.
