This notice applies to your vehicle (VIN: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx). This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Dear: (Name) FCA has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2015 model year Jeep® Cherokee vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine. The problem is... The Air Conditioning (A/C) hose on your vehicle may have been misrouted during the manufacturing process. The A/C hose may come in contact with the engine exhaust manifold. Prolonged A/C hose contact with the engine exhaust manifold may result in a leak of the A/C refrigerant and/or A/C refrigerant oil. A/C refrigerant oil on a hot exhaust manifold could result in underhood smoke and/or an engine compartment fire. What your dealer FCA will repair your vehicle free of charge. To do this, your dealer will inspect the A/C will do... hose routing and replace the A/C hose if required. The A/C hose inspection will take less than ½ hour. If the hose requires replacement an additional two hours will be needed. However, additional time may be necessary depending on service schedules.
