QUARTER IV

I. OBJECTIVES
A. CONTENT STANDARD
The learner demonstrates understanding on the principles and concepts of
embroidery.

B. PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The learner use basic tools in embroidery and create embroidered article.

C. LEARNING COMPETENCY/OBJECTIVES
Basic tools and materials in embroidery are identified.

The learner shall use the principle of simple guessing.


They shall show honesty, friendliness, and sportsmanship upon
playing the game.

A. REVIEWING PREVOIUS LESSON OR PRESENTING THE NEW LESSON
Present a video presentations the Lumban, Laguna Embroidery.

B. ESTABLISHING A PURPOSE FOR THE LESSON
✓ Ask the students what are the things they have observed on the
video.
✓ What is Embroidery?
C.PRESENTING EXAMPLES/INSTANCES OF THE NEW LESSON
Teacher will present different pictures of embroidery tools and materials.
Eliciting student ideas:
✓ What comes to your mind when you see those pictures?
✓ These tools are usually used by?
✓ Which of these tools you are familiar with?
✓ Do you exactly their names and uses?

D. DISCUSSING NEW CONCEPTS AND PRACTICING NEW SKILLS # 1


o The teacher spread randomly the embroidery tools and materials in the
long table. He / she put the strips of paper (names of embroidery tools
and materials) in the right side of the table, and also put the strips of
paper( use and function) on the left side of the table.
o The teacher call randomly the name of the students to go to the long
table and asks these questions:

o The teacher will elaborate and explains if there are something
that should be added up to base on the learners’ responses.

The teacher let the students go one by one towards the long table and get
one tool or equipment and put it on another empty table and put the name and
its use and function in every side.

F. DEVELOPING MASTERY (LEADS TO FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT 3)


✓ The teacher will introduce the game Kukob Lastiko (Rubber Band Digging).
✓ The learners will be grouped into four (4) and will play a game. Each group
will choose one representative who will dig the rubber band and the rest of
the group will help their representative.
✓ The game Kukob Lastiko to be played has a twist in which the rubber
bands will be tied with small strips of paper written with the embroidery
tools and materials. As soon as the rubber band will be dug, the group will
then state the function of the embroidery tool/material.
G. FINDING PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF CONCEPTS AND SKILLS IN
DAILY LIVING
What is the advantage of knowing the functions of the different sewing
tools and equipment?
H. MAKING GENERALIZATIONS AND ABSTRACTIONS
✓ What is the importance of the embroidery tools and materials?
✓ What are different embroidery tools and materials? Give its description
and function.
