ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

It gives us immense pleasure to present this project onREPAIR AND MAINTANANCE OF

PAVEMENT.
The six months duration of the project has been completed, without any doubt .A great
experience and the credit goes to the D A DEGREE ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
for allowing us to undertake the project work, as the part of the study.

We would like to thank PROF.SHAH RAHUL SIR (Project Guide) for giving her auspicious
time and also a chance to undertake this project. The opportunity to study and work here added a lot
to my knowledge and experience.

We like to thank who gave us special guidance, suggestions and teaching us methodical
implementation of the real life application of the project.

We would like to thank all the staff members of the computer department of
D A DEGREE ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY.MAHEMDAVAD for their kind co-operation
extended to us to make this project work comfortable.

1. CONTENTS

1.1INTRODUCATION TO REPAIR AND MAINTANANCE OF PAVEMENT:-

The phrase “pavement maintenance” can mean a lot of things, ranging from simple cleaning or
restriping up to fixing severe distresses like potholes and washouts. Maintenance can also
involve
different approaches, based on whether the emphasis is on repairing distresses or preventing them
before they happen.
1.2MIND MAPPING:
2. AEIOU
Our group's area of interest is to determine the problem of the Repair And Maintenance Of Pavement .

1. AEIOU REFERS TO OBSERVATION SUCH AS:

1. ACTIVITIES

2. ENVIRONMENT

3. INTERACTION

4. OBJECTS

5. USERS

2. ACTIVITIES INVOLVED INREPAIR AND MAINTANANCE OF PAVEMENT WITH

USER:

1. MERGING
2. VENDING
3. WEAVING
4. DIVERGING
5. WEAVING
6. OVERTAKING

3. ENVIRONMENT:

During empathy mapping the factors of the environment are very crucial and must be taken in to
consideration.

The environment factors to be considered during empathy mapping are as follows:

1. TRAFFIC SIGNELS
2. HODINGS
3. ZEBRA CROSSING
4. SIGNELS
5. BLACK SPOT (ACCIDENT)
6. VIOLATION OF TRAFFIC RULES
7. CONGESTION AT TRAFFIC
4. INTERACTION:

1. DRIVERS NODDING
2. ENFORCEMENT
3. WENDERS

5. OBJECTS:

1. PAVEMENT MARKING
2. SIGN BOARDS
3. ROUND ABOUT
4. SIGNELS
5. SPEED BREAKERS

6. USERS:

1. PEDESTRIAN.
2. ENFORCEMENT
3 VEHICLE DRIVERS
4. VENDOR
Based on this observation of AEIOU we come to know about the various parameters to
decide the problem of the REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF PAVEMENT. By these
entire observations, we came to know about various objects, peoples involved in the
activities of in PAVEMENT
MANAGEMENT. By observing the entire problem we divide the problems in different parts
so we can find the solution in systematically order.

Consider all the observation of the problem we develop a mind mapping through which
we can easily understand our problem. With the help of mind mapping our problems is
easily find outand we make our solutions of the problem occur in REPAIR AND
MAINTENANCE OF PAVEMENT.

Considering these all to parameters in order to prepare the empathy canvas and user is to
decide for empathy mapping.
3. EMPATHY MAPPING

1. USER FOR EMPATHYMAPPING:

3. ACTIVITIES OF REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF PAVEMENT:

1. ENFORCING
2. MERGING
3. VENDING
4. OVERTAKING
5. WEAVING
6. DIVERGING

These are the various activities of the Home Automation which they do during using the
REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF PAVEMENT.
