    Probable Customer Complaint –


    • OBD Lamp glowing in cluster

    Registered DTC’s –
    • DTC- P22C9 - Turbo charger jam in closed position
    • DTC- P22C8 - Turbo charger jam in open position

    Possible Root Cause –


    • Rust formation on Turbo e-VGT steering rod, causing turbocharger stuck Rust formation on steering rod end

    Field Action –
    • Check axial play of e-VGT steering rod. If axial play is more, then replace the e-VGT
    • Check rust formation on both the side of e-VGT steering rod. If found rust, then follow the rust removal SOP
    provided on next page

    Consumable required –
    1. Diesel – 100ml 2. Clean cotton cloth 3. Used Engine oil – 100 ml

    e-VGT steering rod rust removal SOP –

    Instruction Illustration

    STEP 1 -

    • Use diesel to clean the rusted ends of steering


    rod, as shown
    • After cleaning activity, dry the steering rod ends

    Note –
    • Do not splash or spill diesel on other area of
    turbocharger

    STEP 2 -

    • Add 10 drops of used engine oil on both ends


    of steering rod, as shown
    • After engine oil application wait for one hour,
    as a curing time

    STEP 3 -

    • Perform e-VGT learning SOP, as mentioned below


    a. Strat the engine and idle for 1 minute
    then switch OFF
    b. Wait for 1 minute to “Auto Learn”
    c. Repeat the “a and b” step for three times
    d. Connect i-SMART and perform Turbo
    Actuator test in 15 and 95%, as shown
