R in high wind conditions.
For wind speeds less than 50 Kts:
R - Mooring is not necessary if the aircraft configuration is in the limits
R given in chapter 05-57-00.
R If wind speed is between 50 and 65 Kts and stable (no gusts) and the

R | NOTE : The manufacturer of the mooring equipment (shown in the table above) |
R | can possibly also supply a Minimum Failure Load or a Safe Working |
R | Load with a Safety Factor for the equipment. The Minimum Failure Load|
R | is the load at which equipment failure will occur. The Safe Working |
R | Load is lower than the Minimum Failure Load. To calculate the Safe |
R | Working Load, you must use a special safety factor applicable for the|
R | initial function of the equipment. |
R | If a Safe Working Load is shown on the equipment, you can multiply |
R | this load by the Safety Factor given by the manufacturer to get the |
R | Minimum Failure Load of the equipment. You must then make sure that |
R | the calculated Minimum Failure Load is equal to or more than the |
R | value given in the table above for the related equipment. |
R | |
R | Here is an example: |
R | A textile roundsling has a Safe Working Load of 5000 daN. |
R | To calculate this value we use a Safety Factor of 7 given by the |
R | manufacturer. |
R | Minimum Failure Load = 5000 daN x 7 |
R | = 35000 daN |
R | The minimum permitted failure load of the textile roundsling for |
R | this configuration (as shown in the above table) is 20000 daN. The |
R | equipment is thus serviceable. |
