PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project involves deferred maintenance and seismic improvement of an existing 40,017 SF music/classroom
building. The seismic upgrades largely consist of introducing new concrete shear walls as well as thickening of
existing masonry shear walls to upgrade the existing building. Improvements to accessibility throughout the building,
includes access from adjacent accessible parking areas to the main entry, upgraded restrooms with the addition of
a gender inclusive restroom, compliant drinking fountains & signage throughout the facility. The existing Music Unit
1 building has been identified to contain hazardous materials in various locations. It is UCSB’s intention to remove
these materials as part of the project. As a result of this work, new materials will be installed in their place. This
scope includes the following:

- Interior Flooring removal and replacement


- Level-2 Exterior Walkways removal and replacement
- Tile roof replacement

 Estimated Cost: $11,000,000


 Project Duration: 10 Months (300 days)
 Prevailing Wage Project
 All subcontractors may be required to bond over $150,000 (submit bond rate with bid)
 Liquidated Damages: $1,000 per Calendar Day
 Hold Bids for 60 days.
