I. BRIEF DESCRIPTION AND GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM

The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management is a program that empowers learners, DepEd personnel, offices, and schools in ensuring safety and learning continuity. It institutionalizes
Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (CCAM) and strengthens the resilience of basic education in the context of natural and human
induced hazards.

The program aims to:

 Provide an inclusive, effective, culturally responsive, gender-sensitive, and safe learning environment to respond to situations of the disadvantaged.
 Protect learners and personnel from death, injury, and harm brought by natural and human-induced hazards.
 Provide learners with access to learning continuity interventions in the aftermath of a disaster or emergency.
 Ensure that education facilities are safe and protected from the impacts of natural and human-induced hazards.
