Provided project management and biomedical engineering consultation on numerous
medical systems projects for the Departments.
Project management work on the design and implementation of software and
hardware systems at several facilities throughout the Carilion system.
Project management Managing the project, interacting with customers.
5. Through the execution of this project, what additional skills or knowledge you
obtained?
Project Management experience directing contract electrical engineering team in
designing, prototyping, and testing master processing and motor driver PCB.
Performed project management and engineering duties in direct support of injection
molded electrical connector products marketed for severe environmental service.
Optimize engineering data collection and analysis routines using Excel.
Conducted literature search, protocol development, testing and data analysis
Conducted functional testing and data analysis on instruments.
Train and supervise other engineers in the use of data collection systems and data
analysis routines.
Determined adequate preventive maintenance guidelines, part kits and schedules to
ensure effective device maintenance.
6. List any three technical difficulties you encountered and how did you mitigate them?
a. During the setting up work at TMM hospital, whent switch on the B20 patient
monitor it was found that the machine was immediately switching to the
bootloader screen instead of the main operations screen and it was completely
not functional. After several checkup it was found that the software cracked on
arrival of the machine, with the guidance of the specialised engineer we
decided to perform the b20 version 7.1.6 software updation asper the
protocol. With standard procedure of software updation reference from
software updation manual the machine started working normally.
b. There was water dews formation/ condensation on inside of front exterior
glass wall on rainy season which was a threat to the inside working
equipments. This was because the glass surface was colder than the dew point
temperature and air throw was directly falling on the glass. In the approved
chart drawing the HVAC duct was designed away from the front exterior glass
on architecture drawing. But the glass wall was moved inwards by
construction team. Thus, the glass wall and air throw grills became too closer
that the air was hitting directly over glass surface. The issue was resolved by
changing the air grill deflection. Thus, the air throw was directed away, not to
fall on the glass. And thus ensured the safety of other inside working units.
7. Attach any reports you developed for the project (Numerous information can be
obtained from it).
8. Was documentation a part of your responsibilities?
Preparing minutes of meeting
Verify measurements and getting it signed from client representative
Site handing over report for client.
9. Have you presented the findings or proposal using oral presentations or poster
presentations? If yes – when, to whom, etc.
Mainly via oral presentation and information printed charts supplied by the manufacturer
were used.
