CONFERENCE OBJECTIVE
✓ The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for discussion on innovative research, in the
field of development economics. The impact of digital economy in innovation ecosystems is
crucial. Some of the major trends of the future economy are open business, platforms, agile
companies, and adaptive ecosystems. Digital economy is a component of technological
progress and a major game changer in the economics.
✓ Scholars, freelance researchers, and Ph.D. candidates are invited to submit their abstracts
related to the topics of the conference and development economics in general to be
considered for presentation at the annual conference of the Faculty of Economic Sciences
from Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești, Romania.

Gabriela OANTA

Gabriela Oanta (gabriela.oanta@udc.es) is Associate professor (accredited


“Professor”) of public international law and international relations,
University of A Coruña (Spain). She is also holder of the Jean Monnet Chair
“European Union law of the sea”, co-financed by the European Union
(https://www.udc.es/catedrajeanmonnet_derechouemar) and director of
the University Institute of European Studies “Salvador de Madariaga” within
the University of A Coruña (https://www.udc.es/iuee). Dr. Gabriela Oanta
activates as co-convener of the Interest Group on the Law of the Sea
(SEALAW IG) within the European Society of International Law (ESIL), as well
as founding member of the Interest Group on International Health Law
within the same Association.She is also member of the Global Network for
Human Rights and the Environment (https://gnhre.org/). She has research
periods at Columbia University, The Hague Academy of International Law,
The Netherlands Institute for the Law of the Sea (Utrecht University),
Università LUISS Guido Carli (Rome), FAO (Rome). In recent years, her
teaching and research activity has focused on public international law and
European Union law, with special emphasis on international organizations,
the law of the sea, food safety, as well as the binomial “business and human
rights”. From the most recent publications: (with J.M. Sobrino Heredia) Las
vías de control judicial aplicables al Acuerdo de comercio y cooperation
entre la Unión Europea y el Reino Unido (2021); (with J.A. Fernandes
Salvador et al.) Artificial Intelligence and the fisheries sector (European
Parliament, 2022); (with B. Sánchez, eds.) Irregular Migrations in Europe: A
Perspective from the Sea Basins (2022). Dr. Gabriela Oanta was invited
professor by Widener University Delaware Law School (2017 and 2018),
Università degli Studi di Salerno (2019) and Università degli Studi di Perugia
(2020). She sustained conferences and lectures at different Universities in
Armenia, France, Italy, Great Britain, Romania, Spain and the Netherlands.
Boris KUZMAN

Prof. Dr. Boris Kuzman (kuzmanboris@yahoo.com) is assistant director at


the Institute for Agricultural Economics in Belgrade. He also teaches at
several faculties in the Republic of Serbia and the region on master’s and
doctoral studies. Prof. Dr. Boris Kuzman graduated, Foreign and Domestic
Trade program (Faculty of Trade and Banking, Belgrade) and Investments
program (Faculty of Technical Sciences, Novi Sad, University of Novi Sad). He
obtained the Master’s degree in narrow scientific field (marketing and
marketing of agricultural food products) and PhD degree in field of science
(markets and marketing of agricultural food products), Faculty of Agriculture
Novi Sad, University of Novi Sad. In addition to the above, in the work of
Prof. Dr Boris Kuzman should especially emphasize the projects on
organization and start-up of the APV Development Fund, a series of
presentations of Vojvodina’s economy, active participation in the
development of the development strategy of the Municipality of Beočin,
participation in the development of the Belgrade agricultural development
strategy, activities in the development of an action plan for the cross-border
cooperation program. Dr. Boris Kuzman served as a member in different
entities like (the Supervisory Board of the Center for Social Work in Novi Sad,
Assembly of the Development Fund of the Autonomous Province of
Vojvodina, working group for the promotion of rural tourism and rural
development at the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Serbia,
Council of the Faculty of Agriculture in Zemun in front of the Government of
the Republic of Serbia, Board of Directors of the Institute for Agricultural
Economics, Belgrade, College of Business, Novi Sad, in front of the APV
Government). In addition, Dr. Boris Kuzman was the chairman of the
supervisory board of PE Fruška Gora National Park. Dr. Boris Kuzman is a
member of the European Association of Agrarian Economists the Society of
Agrarian Economists of Serbia (DAES), the Scientific Society of Agrarian
Economists of the Balkans NDAEB (Balkan Scientific Association of
Agricultural Economics-BSAAE), the Balkan Association for Environmental
Protection (Balkan Environmental Association – B.EN.A.) and the European
Association of Agrarian Economists.
Daniel BALSALOBRE-LORENTE

Daniel Balsalobre-Lorente (daniel.balsalobre@uclm.es) is PhD in Economics


and Associate Professor (Tenure) in the Department of Applied Economics I,
at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. At the academic and research
level, Daniel Balsalobre is an expert in public finance, energy economics,
economic growth and environment, tourism, and innovation and
globalization. In recent years I have published more than 100 studies in
journals and book chapters of reputed prestige and international scientific
impact; including Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Resources Policy,
Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Cleaner Production,
Sustainability, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Energies, and
Journal of Public Affairs, among others. Professor Balsalob recurrently serves
as editor-in-chief of Evaluation Review (SAGE) and associate editor at
Heliyon (Elsevier), Environment, Development and Sustainability (Springer).
He is also guest editor for Renewable Energy (Elsevier), Utilities Policy
(Elsevier), Energy Sources Part B (Taylor), Sustainability (MDPI), Energies
(MDPI), among others; also being an expert reviewer of more than 200
articles for highly indexed journals and handbooks. As a result of his
academic career, he currently accumulates more than 5500 citations in
google scholar and h-index 37 entered the International Ranking elaborated
by Stanford University for those top2% Researchers and 2022 Ranking
Clarivates Highly Cited Author.
Lukman RAIMI

Professor Lukman Raimi holds the position of Program Coordinator for


Entrepreneurship at the esteemed School of Business and Economics,
University Brunei Darussalam. His previous roles encompassed Chair of
Entrepreneurship, Coordinator of the Graduate Program at SBE, and
Associate Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at the American
University of Nigeria. Dr. Raimi’s academic journey culminated in the
acquisition of a PhD in Entrepreneurship and CSR from the prestigious
Leicester Business School, De Montfort University, Leicester, UK.
His multifaceted expertise as an Entrepreneurship Educator, Activator, and
Facilitator was honed through rigorous training at the distinguished
Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) in Ahmedabad, India,
facilitated under the aegis of the World Bank Step B project. Additionally, he
engaged in specialized training in Entrepreneurship Education for
Employability at Pan Atlantic University in Lagos, Nigeria, facilitated by the
esteemed British Council. An alumnus of Cumberland Lodge in Windsor, UK,
Dr. Raimi’s participation in the Residential Mentoring program in 2014
further enriched his academic journey. He also participated in the
Experiential Classroom XX for Entrepreneurship Educators at the University
of Tampa, Tampa, Florida, USA. Notably, he presently presides as the
President of the Global Academy of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Dr. Raimi’s research interests traverse diverse realms of entrepreneurship,
encompassing Enterprise Education, Halal Entrepreneurship, Corporate
Leadership and Governance, Medical Entrepreneurship, Space Tourism
Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship, Sustainability Issues in
Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, and Risk Growth Strategies.
Valentina NDOU

Valentina Ndou is Associate Professor of Management Science and


Engineering at the Department of Engineering for Innovation – University of
Salento (Lecce, Italy) and PhD advisor. She is certified associate professor
with more than 20 years of experience with European, international and
national research projects. She has extensive experience in teaching and
education in subjects related to e business, Digital transformation,
Entrepreneurship education, project management, innovative management
of Tourism systems, developing countries. She serves as expert for project
evaluation for different science and research funds (e.g. Lithuania council of
science, Serbia Science fund); She served as senior international consultant
of UN IOM organization for assisting Albanian Ministry of Education and
sports and the office of negotiation in the EU. By conducting research and
reporting she has authored more than 50 papers published on leading
international journals such as Technology Forecasting & Social Change,
Management Science; Current issues in tourism. Co-author and co-editor of
different books. She is appointed as advisory expert of the International
Academic council of World Tourism Forum Institute. She is a member of the
scientific committee of the Contamination Lab of the University of Salento,
the extra-curricular laboratory that aims to spread the culture of
entrepreneurship in young students. She served as mentor for different
development of innovative entrepreneurial projects, leading them toward
obtaining awards (such as Startup Puglia award 2018 or ‘Best Ecological
Transition Project’ in 2022).
Gagan Deep SHARMA

Dr. Gagan Deep Sharma currently works as a Professor in Management at


Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, India. He holds PhD
in Management and Masters in Philosophy and Commerce. He has an
academic experience of over eighteen years. He also holds the position of
Associate Director, Office of International Affairs of the University. He is the
Associate Editor of ‘Qualitative Research in Organizations and
Management’, ‘Journal of Public Affairs’, and ‘Corporate Governance’. Dr
Sharma is the subject editor for ‘Social Sciences and Humanities Open’. He
is the guest editor for ‘Resources Policy’, ‘Venture Capital’, ‘Energy Sources,
Part B: Economics, Planning, and Policy’, ‘Sustainability’, ‘Frontiers in
Environmental Science’, ‘Frontiers in Psychology’, ‘Annals of Financial
Economics’, World Review of Entrepreneurship, Management, and
Sustainable Development’, and ‘International Journal of Economic Policy in
Emerging Economies’. He holds editorial responsibilities at renowned
journals including ‘International Journal of Emerging Markets’, ‘Frontiers in
Psychology’, ‘Frontiers in Environmental Sciences’, ‘World Review of
Entrepreneurship, Management and Sustainable Development’, and
‘International Journal of Economic Policy in Emerging Economies’. He has
visited Japan, Poland, UK, Canada, China, USA, Thailand, Tanzania, Kenya,
Mauritius, Australia, Belgium, and Germany for academic purposes. Current
areas of his research interest include Sustainable & holistic development,
Green finance, Neuro finance, and Economics of Happiness. He has been
keenly involved in the propagation of ‘Human Values and Professional
Ethics’ education across India.
Lidia-Lenuța BĂLAN

PhD. Lidia Balan works at the Ministry of Research, Innovation and


Digitization and she is also associate researcher at the “Costin C. Kiriţescu”
National Institute of Economic Research from Romanian Academy. She was
scientific researcher at the European Institute in Romania, a project
manager for the European projects. She holds a doctorate in international,
European and national environmental legislation, issued by the Doctoral
School of the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest. PhD. Lidia Balan
is the author and co-author of more than 40 articles, studies and scientific
research analyzes in the field of environmental law. She is a member of the
Romanian Association of Nuclear Law, Expert Association of European
Administrative Judges, member of the Romanian Society of European Law,
member of the Romanian Association of Law and European Affairs and
member of the Editorial Board Journal International Journal of Law and
Society. As an author, she has published three specialized books:
“Environmental protection in the context of pollution prevention and
control” University Publishing House, Bucharest, 2014; “Protection of the
atmosphere, water and soil at the international, European and national
level” University Publishing House, Bucharest, 2014; “Legal responsibility for
violating the rules regarding the protection of the atmosphere, water and
soil” University Publishing House, Bucharest, 2020. As a co-author, she
participated in the development of the book entitled: “Cascades and
Calories: Geothermal Energy in the Pannonian Basin for the 21st Century and
Beyond” edited by Budapest, Hungary, 2019 and the Green Deal:
opportunities and challenges for the sustainable development of Romania,
edited by the European Institute of Romania, Bucharest, 2022.
Mihail Vincențiu IVAN

Mihail Vincenţiu Ivan got his Ph. D. in economic sciences in 1999 and is an
Associate professor working with the Faculty of Economic Sciences at
Petroleum Gas University of Ploiesti, holds lectures in the Academy of
Economic Studies and the Romanian – American University in Bucharest and
activates more than 10 years as a researcher in the Centre for Financial and
Monetary Research „Victor Slăvescu”, part of the Romanian Academy.
He has published in the economics and finance-monetary field as author or
co-author, since 1997, 15 books in prestigious publishing houses, over 70
articles and studies in professional journals and has participated with over
30 public presentations in conferences, symposia, and roundtables both at
home and abroad. Mihail’s biography was published in “Who is Who”, the
Encyclopaedia of Romanian Celebrities, IVth Edition (2009).
His ideas and research in monetary matters combined in a harmonious way
with his preoccupations with the spiritual realm and subtle energy, creating
courses both theoretical and practical, for those who wish to attain a state
of inner wellbeing and aim to manifest it in external reality for their own
benefit or the benefit of others. Mihail is the kind of person oriented
towards solutions, because every problem has a solution and that, once
identified, means evolution.
