Abstract
India currently houses the world's third largest startup ecosystem. Though, there is very less dedicated purpose built startup incubator which help
nurture new entrepreneurs in the country. Startups, mostly are the underprivileged group of people having monetary problems. Incubator helps
startups in guiding and training new startups. Above that it also provides infrastructural facilities that aid positive working environment. Startups,
generally rely on common amenities (shared spaces). In fact, shared spaces are the heart of incubation centre. It also aids interaction and also
provides platform to know other startups from the same centre, therefore they can help each other when needed.
Balance and harmony of shared spaces and workspaces is the essence of incubation centre. This attempt is to find that perfect balance of shared
spaces, workspaces and breakout/relax spaces. Also, attempt is to design creatively and rationally those common spaces without affecting
functionality.
Acknowledgment
I would like to express my heartiest gratitude towards my professors, without whom this thesis would not have been possible. I owe them for their
thorough guidance and mentorship in this project. I would like to sincerely thank all my mentors namely, Ar. Kruti Galia and Ar. Rajesh Mehta. All
of them have given this project a sense of direction and scope at each and every stage of its process towards completion.
They have given their valuable inputs and wisdom of experiences because of which this design thesis has turned out to be fruitful opportunity to
learn and explore. With this project, I had a huge scope to develop my understanding about this unique workspace architecture.

Why Mumbai in Maharashtra
Mumbai has always been the city of dreams and city the financial hub of the country. The city that started and as a major port city soon
transformed into a major industrialist hub and a key contributor to the country's economy. Driven by its robust entrepreneurial culture,
Mumbai has been home to some of the largest conglomerates of India, with few of them existing and growing since pre-independence era.
Mumbai as a city has several factors from geographical to financial which works in its favor.
Mumbai with a total wealth of USD 960 Billion, is the only Indian city to feature among the world’s top 20 wealthiest cities. This also prevails
in the fact that BMC is the richest civic body in India. Hence, given a strong financial and entrepreneurial background of Mumbai, the city
has every available resource to be a popular destination for start-ups.
In addition, there are several other factors which contribute to the Mumbai advantage:
Food & Tech-enabled companies supporting the Food & Food-tech industry
