▷As rule of thumb, the array tilt is selected according
(kWh/kWp/day)
panels to the location of the project (latitude).
5° 4.03 0.8%

6° 4.03 0.8%
▷To find the optimum array tilt angle, we perform
7° 4.04 0.9% several simulations at angles close to the latitude
8° 4.04 0.9% to compare their performance.
9° 4.04 0.9%
▷Inclinations from 8° to 11° show the highest
10° 4.04 0.9%
performances. Since the rooftop slope is 10 °
11° 4.03 0.9% the rooftop inherent inclination is suitable for
12° 4.03 0.8% the modules installation.
13° 4.03 0.7%

14° 4.02 0.7% ▷Therefore 10° is chosen as the tilt angle.

C. Optimizing System Performance Shading Limit Angle

▷In order to optimize the distance between the

the module arrays, we need to select a proper
“Shading limit angle”.

▷For the region of Arau, Malaysia, we have

Solar position at 8am high levels of irradiance starting from 8AM
(December) during the course of the year.

▷Accordingly, we find the location of the sun at

8am in the solar path diagram and calculate the
shading limit angle and separation distance.
