LABOUR MARKET NEEDS ASSESSMENT for


ATVETs in Horticulture in Ethiopia

Agricultural TVET Wolaita Sodo, Agricultural TVET Alage and Bishoftu Polytechnic College are
currently in the process of reviewing and setting up of courses on horticulture and irrigation, that will
include internships and practical training among others. All these efforts are geared towards support to
advancement and promotion of the horticulture sector. To ensure quality and, presence of courses that
respond to the sector needs, this study is being conducted with the aim of:
(i) Determining the competences needed; (ii) Current gaps and challenges; and (iii) Collaboration
possibilities for the future. Inputs of the interview will be used to develop the horticulture course(s).
