technology, is a semi-automatic device designed for clinical urine analysis, which has high
intelligence and is easy to operate and can output accurate results.
The device has the following features:
Nice appearance.
Compact hardware design, high reliability.
32-bit RISC microcontroller is adopted. It decreases the peripheral parts as many as possible,
LED cold light source (white light) with the latest technology is adopted, which provides high
Power switch is made by the professional manufacturer, improving the safety and the
during the analysis, thus preventing the data loss because of shut down or unexpected power
off.

Waste liquid plate is available for collecting the residuals, to decrease the device
contamination.
Chapter 2 Software
2.1. Initialization
Connect the power cord to the power outlet and toggle the power switch to the “I” position. The
system software starts running and displays the system Logo, and starts check the system memory
for system parameters and user options.
When the device is powered on, the system Logo is displayed under which there is a progress bar
indicating the system is self checking. (For the errors information, please refer to Chapter 6). Steps:
1. Check system FlashROM and RAM. If the check sum of the FlashROM is incorrect or none
(even 1Bit) can be written to RAM, then the system prompts E01, E02 or E03 and stops.
2. The test head searches the origin through scanning. If no origin is found, then the system
prompts E21 and stops.
3. Strips feeder system checks the movement. If exceptions occur, then the system prompts
E10 or E11.
4. Test the stray light intensity of the environment and the reflected intensity of the plastic board.
If exceptions occur, then the system prompts E23 or E24.
5. When the self check completes, the main interface is displayed.
2.2.2.Keypad Self-check
Press the 15 keys successively. The device displays the name of the key pressed by the user. When
all the keys are correctly read, then this self-check ends and the system goes to the next step.
2.2.3.Printer Self-check
If there is no paper in the printer, “End” status should be displayed. If not, then the paper sensor is
out of work.
Install the print paper roll and check if the paper status is “OK”. If not, then the No Paper Sensor is
out of work.
Print “PRN” to print the testing page, please pay attention to the last line with full width on the testing
paper. If there are some spots missing, then it indicates the printing head failure.
2.3.1.Preparation
To upgrade the software, you need to run the special upgrade software on PC which can write the
system software to the device via the serial port. You need to prepare:

When the analyzer sends data to a computer, the analyzer is as the sending end and just sends
instead of receiving something; the computer is as the receiving end, and just receives without
replying.
Data content uses frame as its unit, and one frame data is a report. A frame is composed of a
number of lines, and ends with a line containing 0DH and 0AH. A line is composed of fields, which
are separated by 09H.
Table 2.2 describes the details of a frame.

Ribs
Figure 3.12
The feed table should be washed everyday, please pay more attention to the nine ribs and the inner
wall which easily get dirty and influence the strips movement.
Common problems:
The feed table is not installed properly, and the system prompts that the table is not in position.
Please insert the table until it cannot be pushed forward any more.
Even, the strips still cannot move to the proper positions for analysis without any alarms because
one stop slot in the center is not locked, see Figure 3.13. The positions between the feed table and
the gear are shown in Figure 3.14. To solve this problem, please pull out the waste box and push
inward slightly. Please pay attention that do not press at the hand side to prevent the front of the
waste box become upward.
Figure 3.13
Figure 3.14
Another common problem is the strips are not in proper position since the feed table is seriously
contaminated causing the strips cannot be moved smoothly (see the figure below). This may cause
incoreect results and the system prompts “Strips error”. Solution: Clean the feed table, especially the
inner wall and the rib.
Figure 3.15
Waste box
Figure 3.16
With a set of infrared receiving and transmitting photoelectric sensor, the device detects whether the
waste box is full. See Figure 3.17. The system also prompts the waste box is full if the channel is
completely blocked. The humidity and the used strips may contaminate the surface of the receiving
and transmitting photoelectric sensor. If the wrong prompts often occur, please pull out the waste
box and clean its surface using gauze soaked with ethanol. Generally, the receiving end is easily
contaminated.
Receiving
Waste box sensor
Inching switch
Figure 3.17
An inching switch is adopted to detect whether the waste box is in position (see Figure 3.17) which
can be seen and touched. In normal conditions, the service life of the inching switch can meet the
requirement. If “Waste box is not installed” alarm occurs, please push the box inward. If the error
alarm still occurs, please pull out the waste box; push the inching switch manually or using tools to
feel if there is a “make-and-break” feeling. If the system can detect the waste box is in position, then
this problem is caused by the poor connection. Try to compress the switch to ensure the proper
connection. Then the problem can be solved. If the method mentioned above cannot solve this
problem, please open the device case and find the inching switch, use an universal meter to test the
two terminals. If they are connected, the switch is not damaged, the problem maybe caused by the
poor connection or other failures. If they are not connected, the switch should be replaced.
If the switch cannot be replaced immediately, users can turn off this switch through the software first
to avoid such mistake alarms. The users must install the waste box in a proper position and dispose
the used strips in time to avoid any accumulation which any damage the device.

After the modification, press ESC to return to the main interface. The system prompts the following
message.
Save changes?

Figure 4.5
Click “Yes” and press START, the modified value will be stored in the device RAM instead of Flash
ROM, and the data will get lost if the device powered off at this time; click “No” and press START, the
modified value will be discarded.
Return to the main interface and press Fn, the following menu displays.
Load default
Save
Figure 4.6
Click “Save” and press START, all of the threshold values will be saved in the Flash ROM which
cannot be lost when the device is power off. After restart the device, the system uses the new table
of threshold value to generate a new report, to display, print and transmit the existing reports.
Select “Load default” and press START, then the system prompts the following message.
Overwrite current threshold value?
Yes No
Figure 4.7
Note: Risks exist in this operation. If “Yes” is selected, the table of threshold value used by the
device will be replaced by the default value which may not applicable to the current device. Think
twice prior to performing this operation.
Chapter 5 Maintenance
5.1.1.Feed table
It is important to keep the feed table clean and prevent the device to deform. Please refer to the
instructions of the feed table.
5.1.2.Conveyor belt
Extra urine samples may accumulate on the conveyor belt over a long period which will not only
increase the movement resistance but also affects the device’s appearance and sends out
disgusting smell. Pull out the feed table and use a brush to clean it with water or low-concentration
alkalinous detergent.
Figure 5.1
5.2. Sterilization
1. Prepare the disinfectant in one of the following three ways:
2% glutaraldehyde solution: Cidex (of enough concentration) is a product that can be easily
bought and used.Refer to the instructions of disinfection on the labels.
0.05% sodium hypochlorite: Add 1ml 5% sodium chlorate (or Clorox Bleach) to 99ml water
to produce 1:100 diluted solution.
Isopropanol (70%~80%), which needs not to be diluted.
2. Pour the disinfectant into a proper container, and soak the feed table and the waste paper box
into the disinfectant. If necessary, the waste liquid plate can be cleaned in the same way.
3. Wait for 10 minutes and then dry the feed table with absorbent paper.
