Children are told not to bring valuables or money to
prevent theft.
STOP 1. KAARTA GAR-UP LOOKOUT
Hazards:
Risk of falling down the hill
Risk of heat and sun damage, the sunshine will be
very strong as there is no shade.

Kaarta Gar-Up Lookout, also known as


Mooro Katta, is perched within Kings Park,
offers breathtaking views of the Perth
skyline, the Swan River, and the surrounding
landscape.
STOP 2. STATE
WAR MEMORIAL
Hazards:
Fire risk and water risk
Sunburn - No shade
Magpies - Near vicinity of trees ( not in
January)
Tripping over
Certain students may have a pollen allergy

The State War Memorial in Kings Park, Western


Australia, stands as a solemn tribute to the
brave servicemen and women who made the
ultimate sacrifice in wars and conflicts where
Australia played a role.
STOP 3. BOTANICAL
GARDENS

Hazards:
Bees allergies - bee stings
Pollen allergies - hayfever
Magpies swooping
Sunburn

The botanical garden showcases 1,700


native species and a dazzling display of
wildflowers in spring, celebrated with
the annual Kings Park Festival in
September.
STOP 4. FIREFIGHTERS'
MEMORIAL GROVE
Hazards:
Sunburn - no shade or tree cover nearby
Sharp edges of the rock and surrounding metal
Risk of getting burnt from the metal of the statue if
touched.
Symptoms of sunstroke: flushed face, dehydrated,
cracked lips and dry skin, headaches.

The Firefighters Memorial Grove commemorates


Western Australian firefighters who have been injured
or lost their lives, as well as the service offered to the
community by all firefighters.
STOP 5. GIJA JUMULU
(GIANT BOAB)

Hazards:
Sunburn - no shade nearby
Hot metal - if touching the fence
Magpies may swoop

At 37 tonnes and 18 metres tall, it's the


longest known land journey of a living
tree this size. It is estimated to be
close to 1000 years.
STOP 5. WOMEN’S
MEMORIAL

fountain and was built to honour the
contributions of pioneering women to
the development of the city and state.
STOP 6. THE
GLASS BRIDGE

Park, the numerous lookouts provide
breathtaking views of Perth City.
STOP 7. DNA TOWER

The DNA Tower in Kings Park, Perth,


stands as a captivating blend of science,

creates an illusion of two spiral staircases
that merges into one at the top.

PARKLAND

Falling down from the playground
Tripping over
Bumping into the poles

With rolling lawns, great play areas, free


barbecues, a café and beautiful gardens, it
is perfect for gatherings of families and
friends.
STOP 10. RIO TINTO
NATURESCAPE KINGS PARK

Sunburn - constant sun exposure
Water risk
Falling down on the rocks
Getting grazed or scratched by branches and
bushes.
