10. Tight firmly to the ground in line with specification.
11. Fix the vertical dummy supports to the base plates and tack-weld.
12. Weld all the tack-welded parts.

PREPARATION OF MATERIALS AND EXECUTION OF WORKS (PIPING WORKS

AND RISERS)

1. General

2. Pipe Joint Preparation

3. Pipe to Pipe Fit Up

4. 45° Elbow to Pipe Fit Up

5. 90° Elbow to Pipe Fit Up

6. Flange to Pipe Fit Up

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
(REFER TO KEMDIO WPS ON PIPING FOR ALL WELDING INVOLVES)

GENERAL
1. Check all pipes and fittings to be used for joint are free from defects, dents or deformities and are
straight. Remove pipes and fittings with defects and replace with acceptable material.
2. Relative foreign matter or dirt from inside of the pipe and fittings before fit up.
3. For longer work breaks, place suitable stoppers to prevent debris, earth or water from entering pipe
open ends.
4. Wedding electrodes shall be stored and handled as per Manufacturer's instructions.

PIPE JOINT PREPARATION

1. Cut the pipes to the required length using grinding machine allowing for provision of pipe
fitting later. Works shall be carried out in accordance with project requirements.

2. The pipes shall be checked by site supervisor for its squareness and straightness, after being cut
to the correct angle and site requirements.

PIPE TO PIPE FIT UP

1. Lay the two pipes on top of the pipe supports, with each pipe ends aligned near each other.
2. Level one length of pipe using a spirit level.
3. Bring lengths together leaving only a small welding gap. In normal practice. A welding electrode
of 2.4mm size, removed of its covering and bent in the middle at an angle of 30° is inserted
between the two pipes to obtain a perfect welding gap. It is recommended to weld adjustable bolt
stoppers (small piece of plate about 12 rum thick with an M- 16 hexagon bolt and nut welded at
one end for perfect and easy alignment.
4. Remove the adjustable bolt stoppers after fit up and grind flush all tack welded points making
sure that there is no over grinding of the base metal.
5. Place the spirit level over both pipes and maneuver until both pipes are leveled. Adjusting the pipe
support can easily do this. Ensure that there is no high-low situation or misalignment between the
two outside surfaces.
6. Tack weld at the top and bottom.
7. Rotate the pipes 90°.
8. Repeat the same procedure.
45° ELBOW TO PIPE FIT UP
1. Lay one pipe on top of the pipe support.

2. Level the pipe using spirit level.

3. Place the 45° elbow to the end of the pipe leaving a small welding gap.

4. Place a 45° spirit level on the face of the elbow until bubble is centered and ensure that there is
no high-low situation or misalignment between the two outside surfaces.
5. Tack welds in place both the pipe and the elbow.

90° ELBOW TO PIPE FIT UP

1. Lay one pipe on top of the pipe supports.

2. Level the pipe using spirit level

3. Place the 90° elbow to end of the pipe leaving a smart welding gap.
4. Place a spirit level on time face of the elbow and maneuver the elbow until it is leveled and ensure
that there is no high-low situation or misalignment between the two outside surfaces.

5. Tack weld in place both the pipe and elbow.

FLANGE TO PIPE FIT UP

1. Lay one pipe on top of the pipe support.
2. Level the pipe using spirit level.
3. Bring the flange at the end of the pipe leaving a small welding gap (In case a Weld neck type of
flange is used). If a slip-on type of flange is to be used, insert the pipe to the flange bore up to
5mm depth from the flange face to give enough space for a fillet weld.
4. Align the top two holes of the flange with the spirit level.
5. Tack-weld in place the pipe and flange.

PIPE LIFTING
1. Ensure safe work procedure for lifting operation is observed.

2. Ensure proper’ lifting method - with the correct equipment are used.
PIPING TIE IN
All tie in shall be planned to be executed in a manner and timing that the safety and daily
operations of the TOTALENERGIES TRUCK PARK are not compromised. All activities
shall be done while aiming at minimal disruption of operations.

PAINTING PROCESS

1. Painting of Primer coat with roller and brush.

2. Painting of Finishing coat with roller and brush.

COMMISSIONING & HAND OVER OF ENTIRE FACILITY

1. Demobilize equipment and materials from site.

2. General House-keeping.
3. Hand over.
