1. Ensure that approved material required to carry out the work is available.
2. Prior to commencement of work, area and access will be inspected to confirm that the site
is ready to commence the work.
3. Physical verification of material will be carried out for any damages prior to taking from store.
4. Make sure all members of the installation crew are trained with regard to the installation
procedures and any safety procedures necessary to establish a safe working environment.
5. Review and count all rack materials and compare them with the project documents to make sure
that the proper materials have been received. Notify the client company immediately if any
shortages exist with respect to the bill of lading. Inspect the materials and make sure they are
undamaged. Stage all materials in an organized manner so they can be quickly located.
6. Verify the proper location of the racks with the client contact person, engineer should verify that
the floor is adequate. The floor should be level so that a plumb installation of the rack can be
achieved.
7. Completely inspect the area verifying building column locations and checking for any other types
of obstructions such as piping, electrical panels, ducts, lights, doorways, etc. Any such
obstructions should be flagged with tape and called to the attention of the client contact person,
and plans should be made to avoid or remove the obstruction. Building column locations should
be noted, and if there are any places where aisle widths are compromised, the installer should
notify the client contact person. If it becomes necessary to modify the configuration of the racks
in any way, prior approval must be obtained from TOTALENERGIES.
8. Determine a starting line and snap chalk lines to layout the floor. Make sure adequate aisle widths
are established. Down-aisle chalk lines should be made at the front face of the rack columns
from the start line.
9. All relevant documentation and material applicable to particular section of works will be
checked by site Project Engineer before commencement.

to Contract requirements.
12. The site supervisor is to conduct a toolbox meeting for all workers on the job.
13. Ensure availability of firefighting system.
INSTALLATION WORKS
1. Determine the layout of your warehouse or storage area. This includes the height, width, and
depth of the rack system, the number of levels, and the spacing between the beams.
2. Install the vertical uprights. Start by anchoring the first upright to the floor using anchor bolts.
Then, slide the second upright onto the first, ensuring the teardrop-shaped holes are aligned. Use
a rubber mallet to tap the uprights into place until they are fully seated. Repeat this process for
all the uprights.
3. Use shims to level the uprights and ensure the rack is stable in case of uneven floor.
4. Install the horizontal beams. Start by inserting the beam into the top teardrop hole of one
upright, then repeat for the other side. Keep tapping the beams into place with a rubber mallet
until they are secure.
5. Install the diagonal braces by inserting them into the teardrop holes at the bottom of the
uprights. Secure the braces to the beams using the provided bolts and nuts.
6. Tighten all the bolts and nuts using a torque wrench. This will ensure that the rack is stable and
can withstand the load.
7. Test and inspect it to ensure it is safe and secure. Load the rack with pallets and test its stability
by pushing and pulling them to simulate movements during storage and retrieval.
8. After tested and inspected the teardrop pallet rack, make any necessary adjustments to ensure it
is level and plumb. Then, bolt down the rack to the floor using anchor bolts. This will provide
additional stability and prevent the rack from shifting or tipping over.
