To throw a shot put, the chest knee and toe should be in line with
each other and the thrower must place the shot to his/her neck.
The non-throwing arm must be extended out from the body with a
right angle relationship to the throwing elbow. The thrower must
then push the shot off their neck and turn the hips.
Long Jump
The Long jump is a captivating track and field event that showcases an athlete’s explosive power,
speed and technique.In this event participants sprint down a runaway leaping forward into a sandpit, try
to get the best horizontal distance possible.The history of Long Jump can be traced back to Ancient
Greece, where it was part of their Pentathlon know as Olympic Games now.The modernized version of
Long Jump started in the 1896 Olympic games. The medal are gold, silver and bronze if you win.Over
a time period this event has turned into one of the most known events in athletics history.
Throughout the years, the long jump has witnessed a remarkable evolution in both techniques and
records. Athletes continue to develop their approaches, seeking the optimal combination of speed and
precision during takeoff.The most commonly used technique is in flight are the tucks in which knees
are brought towards the chest and the hitch kick, which is in effect a continuation of the run in the air.
The winner is the one who makes the single longest longest jump over the course of the preliminary
and final rounds. In 1935 Jesse Owens of United States set a record of 8.13 metres that was not broken
until 1960 by Bob Beamon who held the record of 8.90metres from 1968 until 1991, when it was
broken by American Mike Powell who leapt 8.95metres.
The current world records in the world of Long jumps were executed amazingly.Mike Powell with his
amazing 8.95metres in Long Jump has not been broken since 1992.The woman world record is Galina
Chistyakova of Russia. She hold a record of 7.52 metres.
The world record for the farthest thrown discus for male is 74.08m which
was thrown by German athlete Jürgen Schult on June 6th, 1986 at
Neubrandenburg. The farthest thrown discus for female is 76.80m thrown
by German athlete Gabriele Riensch on July 9th, 1988 at
Neubrandenburg.
A few Rules and Regulations of the event are: 1. The athletes cannot
touch the rim but the inner part of the rim of the cirlce. 2.If the Discus
lands outside of the landing area the throw will not be counted. 3. While
releasing the discus, the althlete can't go over the stipulated circle.

The 100 metres, or 100-meter dash, is a sprint race in track and field
competitions. The shortest common outdoor running distance, the 100-meter
(109.36 yd) dash is one of the most popular and prestigious events in the sport
of athletics,it was part of the Commonwealth Games until 1970, and was
included in the triathlon of the Olympics in 1904. It is not generally used in
international events.
Usain Bolt's World Record 9.58 from the '09 World Champs remains
history's fastest 100,and the current female record is 10.49 seconds set by
Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988.
Starting blocks are used for all hurdle, relay and sprint events. The starting
blocks consist of two adjustable footplates attached to a rigid frame.
Olympic hurdle and sprint races commence with the firing of the Starter's
gun. The starting commands are "On your marks" and "Set." Once all
athletes are in the set position, the Starter's gun is fired, officially starting
the race. For the 100m, women's 100m hurdles and men's 110m hurdles,
all competitors are lined up side-by-side,afterwards you then sprint to the
finish line as fast as you can
