Other Learning Resources Frustration Level: Who Is Like You? Instructional Level: How Much Land Does a Man Need? Independent Level: My Father Goes to Court, Rice, The Doll’s House, The Baby in the Bottle IV. PROCEDURES A. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Pre-reading Activity: The teacher will introduce the reading material and give a short background about it. The learners will be oriented on the flow of the reading session, including the timeframe for each part. B. Discussing new concepts and Actual Reading Activity: The learners will engage in silent independent reading. practicing new skills #1 C. Making generalizations Random learners will be called to share something about what he/she has read. and abstractions about the lesson D. Evaluating learning Learners will be instructed to make their journal entry about the reading text. Below are the guide questions which they may follow:
1. Who are the characters in the story? Describe each.
2. Where did the story take place? 3. What is the message of the story to the readers? 4. Write the plot of the story: How did the story begin? What happened in the middle of the story? How did the story end? 5. How would you apply what you learned in the story to your everyday living?
The teacher may add more questions to guide the learners in writing their journal.
