PRAYER SERVICE FOR THE DEARLY DEPARTED

MR. FERNANDO P. DAQUIOAG

A DEDICATED FATHER, A HUMBLE MAN, A LOVING SIBLING

INTRODUCTION AND PRELIMINARIES

LEADER: Brothers and Sisters in Christ, and everyone,

Good Afternoon. May the Peace and the Spirit of
Love of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

Today, may I invite everyone to silence and be

aware of the presence of God in us and around
us as we altogether offer our sincerest
appreciation of the life of our dearly beloved –
FERNANDO P. DAQUIOAG.

Today we come together to fulfill the sweetest of

all the spiritual works of mercy, which is to honor,
celebrate his life and pray to God that He may
especially bless the family and loved ones of the
deceased, and that may God give them the
strength and the courage to face this uncertainty
in their lives; and that may God grant eternal rest
to FERNANDO P. DAQUIOAG and that he may
live an eternal life as God has promised for those
who believe in Him.

Thank You for your deepest and sincerest sympathy to our Family!
Also, we come here to pray with faith for our
early departed loved ones that they now live in
the Kingdom of God.

After that, we all pray for them, giving them to

God's mercy in the knowledge that our prayers
and good deeds can be of the source of God’s
mercy.

And so, with confidence, we pray to God – In the

name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit.

ALL: Amen.

OPENING PRAYER

LEADER: Father, you are all-powerful and ever-living God.

In your son Jesus Christ, who rose from the
dead, our hope of resurrection begins.

The sadness of death gives way to the bright

promise of immortality. Lord, for your faithful
people life is changed, not ended.

Merciful Father, hear our prayers and be

gracious to us.

As we renew our faith in your Son, whom you

raised from the dead, strengthen our hope that
our beloved FERNANDO P. DAQUIOAG and
all our departed brothers and sisters will share
in Your resurrection.

Thank You for your deepest and sincerest sympathy to our Family!
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

ALL: Amen.

(Please all be seated.)

READER: Brothers and Sisters in Christ, as we continue

our prayer service today for FERNANDO P.
DAQUIOAG, may we hear from the Letter of St.
Paul to the Philippians Chapter 3 Verses 20-21.

“For us, our homeland is in heaven, and from

heaven comes the savior we are waiting for, the
Lord Jesus Christ, and He will transfigure those
wretched bodies of ours into copies of His
glorious body. He will do that by the same
power with which He can subdue the whole
universe.”

This is the word of the Lord.

ALL: Thanks be to God!

LEADER: With that heard, from Paul to the Philippians, it

assures us that when life ends here, it
continues somewhere else. This assurance
hopes to strengthen our faith and believe that
the quality of life begins on earth and continues
in heaven (Romans 6:4).

Thank You for your deepest and sincerest sympathy to our Family!
It has something Jesus gives next to which all
other life is not quite life at all.

But the life that He meant is the life we live with

faith that we will have eternal life after death.

As we profess our own faith today, let us all

pray for all our own intentions in this prayer
service, and with the hope we hold dear in our
heart that FERNANDO P. DAQUIOAG believed
that Jesus – Our Lord, is the Light and
Salvation.

READER: For our response, please pray: The Lord is my

light and my salvation.

1. The Lord is my light and my help; whom shall, I fear? The

Lord is the stronghold of my life; before whom shall I
shrink?

Response: The Lord is my light and my salvation.

2. There is one thing I ask of the Lord, all the days of my

life; To savor the sweetness of the Lord, to behold his
temple.

Response: The Lord is my light and my salvation.

Thank You for your deepest and sincerest sympathy to our Family!
3. O Lord, hear my voice when I call; have mercy and
answer. It is your face, O Lord, that I seek; hide not your
face to us who faithfully believe in You;

Response: The Lord is my light and my salvation.

4. I am sure I shall see the Lord’s goodness in the land of

the living. Hope in him, hold firm and take heart. Hope in
the Lord!

Response: The Lord is my light and my salvation.

LEADER: Please all stand.

ACCLAMATION SONG: AMAZING GRACE

Amazing Grace, how sweet safe thus far

the sound; And grace will lead us
That saved a wretch like me home.
I once was lost, but now am
found; When we've been there ten
Was blind, but now I see; thousand years;
Bright, shining as the sun
'Twas grace that taught my We've no less days to sing
heart to fear, God's praise
And grace my fears Then when we've first
relieved; begun.
How precious did that grace
appear, Amazing grace, how sweet
The hour I first believed. the sound;
That saved a wretch like
Through many dangers, me;
toils and snares I once was lost, but now I
We have already come am found;
'Twas grace has brought us Was blind, but now I see.

Thank You for your deepest and sincerest sympathy to our Family!
READER: As we continue with our prayer service today,
let us all sit down and listen to the Second
Reading.

A Reading from St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans

(Rom 6:3-9)

“Are you unaware that we who were baptized

into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
We were indeed buried with him through
baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was
raised from the dead by the glory of the Father,
we too might live in newness of life.

For if we have grown into union with him

through a death like his, we shall also be
united with him in the resurrection. We know
that our old self was crucified with him, so that
our sinful body might be done away with, that
we might no longer be in slavery to sin.

For a dead person has been absolved from sin.

If, then, we have died with Christ, we believe
that we shall also live with him. We know that
Christ, raised from the dead, dies no more;
death no longer has power over him.” The
Word of the Lord.

ALL: Thanks be to God!
