A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Teaching Grade 7 PE

I. Objectives
At the end of this lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Sets FITT goals based on training principles to achieve and/or maintain HRF;
2. Discuss and identify understanding about the different concepts under the FITT
principle and application of different physical activity;
3. Create and evaluate exercise or physical activity plans to maintain health-related
fitness.

III. Teaching Procedure


A. Preliminary Activities
 Arranging of chairs
 Prayer
 Checking of attendance
 Short Interview on the students about their day
B. Review
 Ask the learners about the topic last meeting
 Ask them what did they learn
C. Motivation
 Let the student do a Zumba dance called “Zumbayle”
 Let the students sit and have a rest.
D. Lesson Proper
 Discussion
F.I.T.T. PRINCIPLE
- is a basic philosophy of whatis necessary to gain a training affect from an exercise program.
This is a tried-and-true method of putting together an efficient workout plan.

COMPONENTS OF FITT PRICIPLES
1. FREQUENCY - This refers on how often you exercise. This depends on the variety of
factors including the type of activity you will do, how hard you are working, your
fitness level and goals.
2. INTENSITY -This has to do with how hard you work during the exercise or activity.
How you can change the intensity depends on the activity.
3. TIME - This is about how long you exercise during each session. There is not one rule
on how long you should exercise and will typically depend on your fitness level and
the type of workout you are doing.
4. TYPE – This refers on to whether you do aerobics or strength training during your
exercise session and the specific exercises you select for each.

TYPES OF EXERCISE

CARDIO EXERCISE - Are exercise that increases heart and breathing rates and improves the
function of the heart, lungs, and circulatory system.
MUSCLE EXERCISE - Is a system of physical conditioning in which muscles are exercised by being
worked against an opposing force to increase strength.

FITT FORMULA
Frequency (How often)
- number of training sessions that are performed during a given period (it may be once a week or
twice a week)

Intensity (How hard)


- an individual’s level of effort, compared with their maximal effort.

Time (How long)


- duration of a workout or the length of time spent on training

Type
- mode of physical activity.

E. Application
 Answer the survey form to determine if they have a healthy lifestyle.

F. Generalization
 The teacher will generalize the lesson through the following
questions:
 In simple words what is FITT Principle all about?
 How important of following these principles?
 Give some example about activities we can apply FITT

IV. Evaluation
I. IDENTIFICATION: Identify the correct answer. Write it on a 1/2 sheet of paper.
1. A principle of FITT which focuses on the kind exercise being conducted.
2. Physical activity which focuses on improving the stamina and cardiovascular capabilities.
3. This principle of the FITT focuses on how often you do the exercise.
4. This principle of the FITT explains how hard or extreme an exercise is being applied.
